Setting up our Scooter Schooner motorcycle camper

EDIT: Yes -- we wasted time at the start of the video and should have first taken off the car top bag with chairs, clothes bag, etc and the ice chest tongue. So advance & start video at about the 10:00 mark.
People have wondered how easy is it & how long it takes to set up our motorcycle camper, the Scooter Schooner. This is when we camped this past weekend & I wanted to show the whole process. See my other video showing it & our camp setup.
We tow this with our Honda ST1300. The camper weighs 250 lbs empty, about 400 lbs loaded (chairs, stove, 2 ice chests, etc)
We've had ours for about a year, but it was built about 1990 in
Sharon, Oklahoma.

I know for some people that seems like work to set up m/c tent camper but little camper has a lot to offer. I like it.

Thanks. And I realize the first 15 mins were a bust -- we normally know to take off the chairs etc and the tongue ice chest before setting up.

Wow I thought my mini mate was a pain to set up, this is like setting up a tent. I got tired watching uou guys set it up and when I camp on my mini mate I do all the work in less than 10 minutes.

I was thinking the same thing. After 10 minutes in I’m exhausted. The minimate and timeout are way less complicated. Just think if it was raining. 🤕

@@canyoudigit3709 Exactly my thought. According to their video, it is 24 minutes long just to set it up. 🤣

Haha! True and believe me I realized the first 15 minutes were a waste -- we usually know to take off the chairs etc and tye tongue ice chest to get the weight off before putting stabilizers down.

Comparing this to a Mini Mate is not apples to apples. This schooner is huge and has a “Head”, pull out kitchen and electrical system not to mention a table and place to sit down inside. The vestibule was also very big. Yes, it was a PITA to set up and took two people, but they didn’t seem to mind the process. We are all to quick to be overly critical of others peoples stuff. They will have a great time and enjoy the weekend just like Mini Mate owners will.

Thanks. Yes it is and can also carry chairs and an ice chest. It is a bit to set it up but doable and really nice to have since we can tow it with a motorcycle!

They don't start on the actual setup until 7:20 if you want to skip to that time. The beginning is just them unloading things out of the storage.

Thanks! And yes -- it went to long because we didn't take off that top bag that has chairs, clothes bag, etc and the tongue ice chest. We wasted time on the video but then again , it's real life.

Looks like too much work for a motorcycle camper. Look into the Mini Mate & the Mini Mate Deluxe.

I like it. Just a suggestion on your leveling blocks, why not turn them the other way? That way they are not sticking out to be kicked/tripped over.

Thanks for the video I think I'll keep my mini mate I'm about at it about 15 to 20 minutes at the most hope you get something better

Yes sometimes we can set it up quicker. We're not really rushing. And we probably carry more stuff than we need to. We also have a 26 cargo trailer conversion that we can carry the motorcycle in and drop down the bed and camp in. But being able to tow this with the motorcycle is a neat thing!
