Seven Tubs Natural Area - Reopened - Waterfalls, Pools and Hiking

I visit the seven tubs nature area to hike and look at the tubs and waterfalls. The seven tubs natural area just reopened in April 2024 after being closed for improvements. This beautiful area in the Pinchot State Forest near Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania is a perfect spot to take a dip in the summer and swim in these natural swimming holes. You can hike the small trail around the tubs or hike the longer Audubon trail at the seven tubs recreation area. The seven tubs recreation area is located in Luzerne County in Pennsylvania. Over 12,000 years ago glacial melt created this area, and the flowing water has created the tubs in the sandstone rocks. This is a popular spot in the summertime to cool off and swim in the various tubs and creek. This area is a carry in/carry out park for your trash, so please come prepared with trash bags to pack out what you bring in.

Actually I really began as a school project with my son around the time Covid hit but we were allowed local walks. its really just moved on from that. with the exception of some holiday vlogs I did. Yes, taking you trash with you is not that hard to understand. It's a bummer people just leave it. This is a really popular swimming and hiking spot, especially on warmer days. I think trash cans would alleviate some of the problem, at least by the visitor center and parking lot. You obviously can't put them on the trail which is why its important to have people maintain the trails to keep it clean. When I go out to do trail maintenance, I take a trash bag with me and constantly find beer bottles and cigarette butts. I'm all for people having a good time but clean up after yourself! I'm guessing it's the expense of having dumpsters or someone to empty the trash that is preventing them from adding that here. That is awesome that you do trail maintenance. I know you mentioned you might do a video about that, so hoping you do at some point because I'd like to see what that involves.

That was a beautiful hike. We could see ourselves exploring around there 🙂. Unfortunately we do have the same issue with garbage here on the island, and it is a real shame that some people are just that disrespectful. We always try to clean up as much as possible what others have just dumped, but cannot always get it all. The trash issue is so disheartening, as is the graffiti on the rocks. I'll never understand why people are so careless in such a beautiful place. I am going here this morning to do a loop trail, it's only 15 minutes away from where I live and I have been waiting for it to reopen! Thanks for sharing this video with us!

You are amazing!! I have to get out there. There's so much trash because the people who go to that particular place go to swim and have no respect for the specialness of the area. They're not looking at the trees and the rocks. it's just a place to play in the water. (I can't wait to do that!!) Some places like Bushkill Falls disallow single use beverage containers of any kind on the property. Hopefully awareness will help teach people to care. Thank you, Sarah! Yes, I think you are right that people are more focused on swimming and don't think about how they have to carry home their trash. It really is such a beautiful spot. They improvements they made look very good - parking lot is much nicer, and it looks like that bridge has been replaced. I really think I'm going to start keeping some trash bags and gloves in my backpack so I can clean up if I see something like this again. Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed the video.

I’ve been following the channel for a while and love to see how much you have been learned. Even though I’m not from that area. I feel like I’m hiking right there with you. The trash situation is very unfortunate. It is often accompanied by graffiti. The cost of trash removal is likely very expensive. There needs to be a better solution.

That is such a beautiful area! It is amazing what glacial melt did all of those thousands of years ago. We have a state park here in Minnesota that was formed by glacial melt as well. Why do people leave their trash everywhere! That is so frustrating. I feel you pain as that frustrates me as well. 😊👍

Yes, super beautiful creation here by the glaciers. That's neat that you have a state park in Minnesota with similar features. Yes, the trash thing is so frustrating but I think I'm going to start keeping trash bags in my hiking bag and maybe some gloves so I can pick it up along the way. Thanks for watching.

This is really such a unique spot in Pennsylvania. Yes, the trash thing really bothers me too. It really bummed me out because this area was closed for so long and then it reopens and people still litter.

I have been know for o do a little hiking for a pretty waterfall. Some of the best falls we’ve seen are in Tennessee. We did a whole chasing falls day. It was awesome. I definitely appreciate your vids. I know exactly how much work it can take. Just a small tip on trash. We try to remember to take a plastic grocery bag with us. Or even a small trash bag. Easy to carry. Tie it to a belt loop when hiking. Course if you have anything heavy it wouldn’t work well. But for small paper type trash. Yup no trash cans are just asking for issues. However, there really is no excuse but pure laziness for someone to not pack it out. They could easily take a bag to put their own trash in. Carry a backpack and put the bag of trash in it. I could go on. I hate seeing trash left behind.

That sounds wonderful to spend the day looking at waterfalls in Tennessee. Thank you so much for letting me know you appreciate my videos. I love your idea about keeping grocery bags or the small trash bags in my hiking pack. Could easily tie it onto my backpack and clean up if I run into a situation like this again. This place is stunning! It's a shame about the litter. I pack out any trash I have. Even Jackie Boy 's waste. I've been parks where they have no trash cans, and I still haul it out

Yes, this place is really special with all the waterfalls and tubs in the rock. That's awesome. If more people were like you and packed everything out the world would be a better place. I really think I'm going to keep some gloves and little trash bags in my pack for situations like that.

This is a wonderful location so glad it opened back up and you shared this. Absolutely agree it breaks my heart when I see litter and all the trash in such beautiful places and yes we agree you take it in take it out. Maybe you can contact the county or state parks whoever is in charge and see if they can add the cans and have it on the stop as a place to check every so often? That is a very nice trail and the water looks so wonderful it would be so nice to see it maintained. It was great for you to share how much time and work it does take a you tuber to make these videos. You are doing a great job love what you do it actually just makes me sad you dont live close by I would so join you!

I'm glad you liked seeing the seven tubs area. I think the trash situation is a problem because this isn't a state park but a state forest so maybe less funding. If you guys RV through Pennsylvania or if I come out your way sometime, it would be fun to collaborate on a hiking video. Thanks for watching

Getting up at 5;30AM??? Yikes😱😱 Start bringing bags with you. I carry the old bags from the grocery store used for the vegetables as garbage bags out there. That's crazy how much garbage is there. I guess the people just don't care☹☹

Yes, 5:30am. Got ready, packed my lunch, got my gear and then drove then hour and a 1/2 to get to this spot. Pennsylvania is a big state so sometimes you have to drive a bit father to reach certain spots. I really wanted to be there early to film without people. Yes, using the vegetable bags or grocery store bags is a great idea and a good way to reuse them. Thanks for the idea.
