F*ck my life song is not supposed to be a "do this,do that" kind of comforting and motivating song. It's more like in simple words "you feel like this, don't worry i also feel same" kinda comforting song. Hence the quote inspired by everyone around the world. Since most people nowadays feel same like they are the most stupid and dumb person, but don't loose hope and fight for your life.

FML is a comfort song. Fire is a motivational song. I don't understand but I love you is a song for fans. Sonogong is for Seventeen. Dust and April shower is for showing off vocals.

FML is not about the doing, it’s about coming to the point/realization that you want different for yourself. Hence the truman show that is all about one becoming aware that there is another life/reality.

The song showcases these emotions and this mindset that so many of us can find ourselves in (FML), listeners find comfort in the fact that they’re not the only ones who feel this way, but towards the end of the song you see everything change, and the lyrics now shift to fight for my life. Hence this shift occurring! It’s about the shift and gearing towards that shift, not about what comes after.

The translated lyrics on the MV of FML were actually a bit disappointing to me, as someone who can understand Korean a bit, since the lyrics seemed more of a "In this f*cked up/damned world, I'm the only one that ended up looking stupid" and not just "I'm stupid". HYBE sometimes makes the context weird. Also, I think I remember Woozi mentioning somewhere that FML was kind of the realization that they want to escape that life and so Super IS the way they fight for their life.

Woozi (a highly empathic INFJ) said he wrote this in the middle of the night, and it was very hard. He himself was going through a hard time (something similar to what's known as "the dark night of the soul). He said he had to dig deep and face all the "demons" and negativity that not only he was experiencing (think of their song "Shadow" which is all about doing shadow work and integrating/embracing your own "dark" side) but what people worldwide are facing right now, and it became very emotional for him and HARD to write the song. The purpose is to express what I would say the majority of the world's population are thinking/feeling right now, especially in those countries where people are under surveillance (Seungkwan, a whistleblower, in the corporate world, trying to escape like Truman did; DK finding a camera in his lamp and drones outside his window, so he smashes his TV which may also be spying on him; etc.), where everything wrong seems to be happening (Woozi doesn't even HAVE a driver's license and doesn't drive on purpose, so he probably would feel dumb trying to start a car and turning on the wipers instead...but Truman's car wouldn't start either), Mingyu having a stage camera fall on his car (just like the camera fell nearly hitting Truman in The Truman Show...Wonwoo trying to leave but getting blocked only to end up with it raining on only his right side (meaning the world is fake)...there are SO MANY references to The Truman Show in this video it's unreal!), Joshua saying goodbye to a friend only to find a button pin just like Truman did sharing Truth. They're all trying to escape the "set" or "stage" of life, but keep getting blocked. Truman desperately wanted to go overseas, purchased tickets, but was too afraid of the water to go. Woozi has a ticket, but keeps getting blocked...again, just like Truman did. The only way Truman could escape was to put a dummy in his bed (like Hoshi) so the producers of the show would think he was sleeping while he ran away. Did you notice that the drawing in the mirror that Hoshi is looking at is a monkey...referring to Sonongong...the mythical Monkey King of their latest blockbuster hit? And another thing I found significant is that as Dino is looking up at the night sky, the Big Dipper constellation changes into the Southern Cross. (The Cross.) The title of the book Woozi is reading is "Microwave and RF Design of Wireless Systems"...a tip of the hat to a "conspiracy theory" that we're being zapped with negative energies via technology (including our cell phones). It's significant that S.Coups finally walks over and turns off the lights on the set, indicating this life is nothing but a stage. Once the lights are out, that's when you see the ocean, with storm clouds forming in the background....just like the director of The Truman Show created to drown Truman once he finally beat his fear and got on a boat. TOO MANY references to the movie; and it's EXACTLY how people are feeling everywhere. Even Minghao (aka The8) said he's felt this way many times, and his only salvation--which is everyone's--was to find himself, which he does through meditation. So overall I think the video is beautiful...Seventeen letting their fan base CARATs know THEY UNDERSTAND what they're feeling...especially those in China and other tightly controlled countries...and that the way to overcome is to return to and find yourself. Don't quit, don't let the numbness (apathy) set in, don't hide your feelings by just laughing it off, don't fear your past self embarrassing you now because your past self isn't who you are now. And don't we all have a "secret" from the past that we're too ashamed to tell anyone? We can't let it define us NOW. FIND YOURSELF. FIGHT For Your Life (the billboards behind Jun read "Nothing Will Make You Happy", "Waves of Fear Coming To You" l, "Never Make Mistakes" and "Avoid Challenges/Stay Safe"...the messages/propaganda of the world and what we must fight to find ourselves and WIN. Personally, I cry every time I watch it...not only because it hits home for ME, but watching others' react and seeing their pain breaks MY heart. We must NEVER think we're alone; and one day on the other side of THIS Truman Show we're all in, we'll come together, REMEMBER each other, reunite and be whole again. I look forward to that day every second I breathe. Last week I watched an interview with Vernon, Woozi and Hoshi. They were answering questions from fans, and the last question was, "In the next life, what would you want to come back as?" Woozi said if he HAD to come back he'd want to be a cat: someone to love and feed him, and he could sleep all the time. Vernon, however, said, "But what if I don't want to come back?" Paraphrased he basically said that this life isn't real and there's more beyond here. Hoshi immediately said, "This is The Matrix", to which Woozi said, "Yeah...this is The Truman Show."

fuck my life is like “fuck it lets go” like in a idgaf anymore way because you cant really do anything but go foreword instead of mopping around doing nothing/doing the things you dont want to.We sometimes have this mentality of how we are the only one struggling or how others have it much better. The song is- it’s not just you but everyone feels the same way. And the ending line is them wanting to find themselves. Sometimes its really hard to translate a foreign word to emglish without it losing some of its meaning. I recommend you listening to other korean reactors about it if you want to know more.
