There was an episode of law and order SVU where they said, “victims end up turning into predators” I am a victim so that quote always hunted me... when I’d hold my cousin and they’d randomly start crying like babies do for no reason, I’d panic and put them down because I didn’t want anyone thinking I was doing something to them... and I think that’s what he’s talking about at the end. Not that he’s interested in a child or finds them attractive.. he just doesn’t ever want people to get the wrong idea about him ... because he knows the pain it brought him

Many of our black men have been sexually abused, they NEVER talk about it nor admit it. As a result, they act out through violence or abuse towards their own. I’m so glad he’s talking about this. Hopefully we can gain more of an understanding and develop more compassion. We (black people) have to create a safe place for our black men to talk so they may heal, so that we may heal as a people.

I think what he's trying to say at the end is that he doesn't ever want to make a child feel like he is going to hurt them in the way that he was hurt. He doesn't want to touch them at all bc he doesn't ever want it to be interpreted as sexual and scare them like how he was scared. I don't think he's doing it bc he thinks he will do anything to the kid, I think he's doing it w the child's feelings and best interest at heart and he's being very sensitive to them.

This dude is pretty brave to even be talking about this so openly. Many people cannot.

He doesn’t want to have any association with that world of rape or molestation, that’s why he doesn’t feel comfortable around kids, not because he has a fear of himself being capable of such things. That was clear.

I'm a survivor of rape and csa, and when I tell you that your mind is never the same... I find myself feeling disgusted and self loathing and bordering on suicidal at times, when I simply hug my nieces or play games with them I'm overtaken with the searing fear that someone is going to think I'm one of "them". Looking at my body in the shower makes me want to cry, and I turn the water on as hot as I can handle to feel clean in my own body. We hear you, Bobo. We see you, we support you, and we advocate for your recovery and the recovery of all the other men who have been in your place. Male mental health and abuse is a health emergency that no one wants to acknowledge.

It was interesting to hear a man tell his story about getting sexually abused and how it affected him. Usually it’s women on this channel (also more so women in general from my experience) who speak about this. Hearing this man speak about it was honestly badass and inspiring to me. I hope one day men can be more comforted and supported by society in situations like this.

Sadly, when kids are exposed to sexual perversion, it can create identity confusion. It brings me joy to see that this man has held on to the Lord for strength to overcome his past.

He struggled with his English in the beginning, whether it was his nerves or the traumatic experience being brought up, or maybe that's just the way he speaks; but at the end when he recited those verses it was perfect English. This brother here! even having gone through all of that horror, I can tell his soul is upright in him. Sexual trauma as a young child can overtime become a demonic force and manifest itself in many ways to include the abuse of others. The victim can become an abuser later in life. But this brother here is fighting that off everyday and has a righteous spirit in him that continues to try and do the right thing. May The Most High God continue to keep watch over him...Shalom.

my uncle sexual abuse me when I was 13. it was so difficult to deal with this and iv never talked to my parents or someone until my 19. I spend years terrifying other man's in my family to. I find the power after 2 tries of killing my self to get over and stand by my feet! I'm 24 today and the most sad thing is me and all people who have sexually abuse is that we never gonna get over ... talk to someone if you sexual abuse of someone, dont be afraid and don't do the same mistake as i did. This is the standard, "molested as a child," origin story. Dad leaves the household, mom's new dude and a neighbor molest the victim. Mom pretends like she's concerned. I've heard this story from the majority of people who were sexually abused as children.

I was a victim of being touched by a family Member! This continued for years! My aunt tried to make it out, as if I was a liar!!! Still bothers me to this day mentally.

My heart breaks for him! He has so much to say but doesn’t know how to articulate it. The damage sexual abuse causes lasts forever. Someone I love and am very close to was sexually abused over a 10 year period and at some point questioned his sexuality and ended up being promiscuous to validate his “manhood” and to this day has a difficult time with any type of relationship he has because of the abuse he went through as a child. Bobo is doing the first thing to start the healing process and that’s talking about it. I love mark for giving people like him a platform and a safe place to talk.

At the very end of the video, I think he was saying he's uncomfortable around kids because they're the age he was when he was molested. Not that he is uncomfortable because he might violate the child like he was violated. It seems he couldn't find the proper words to express what he meant.

It's like these predators have a sixth sense about these kids. It's such a common story that a child of sexual abuse continues to experience it from multiple predators throughout his/her life. I never allowed my kids to attend sleepovers, nor do I host. Missing out on sleepovers is less traumatic than being molested. My kids only slept overnight at my parent's house.

A child’s mind is so innocent. My sisters and I never even remembered that we were abused until we were grown because we were extensively groomed by my father. We didn’t even know something wrong had happened until later in life.

I was molested by a few people growing up and I swear it changes you forever. You never really recover. I know many black men who have also experienced the same thing & they are completely closed off about it. So I’m proud of this black man for sharing his story because this needs to be known. It’s a real issue, stop hurting innocent children & scarring them for life.

That's crazy I feel the same way after being sexually abused ... I'm so affectionate with my kids but when it comes to other children I try not to give them affection or touch them. Along with many other issues may I add but yes this is one of them.

I think what he was trying to say is that he didnt wanna be looked upon and have anything to do with children that could make him feel like he was abusing them or have anybody ACCUSING him. He suffered from sexual trauma early on in his mouth and his throat chakra appears to be blocked. Reading scriptures seems to free him, he is a kindred spirit. He has suffered much yet he is resilient. He is full of wisdom and self reflection which has helped him break the cycle of abuse. I pray for healing and peace in and over his life. It makes me sick to think of how many children have been abused, their beautiful innocence stripped from them and the pain it will cause for years if not a lifetime. The best we can do all of us, is to watch for signs a child is being abused, and stop it. It’s rampant, there is so much going on all over the world. What the hell is wrong with us as people that this is so rampant? I look at my little granddaughter and I would kill anyone who touched her inappropriately.
