Exploring Victoria: The Smallest Capital City in the World
I’m going to show you around Victoria, the capital city of Seychelles. Victoria is the smallest capital city in the world, with a population of only about 25,000 people. It is located on the main island of Mahé, which is also the largest and most populous island in Seychelles.
Victoria is a charming and colorful city, with a mix of colonial and modern architecture. It has a vibrant market, where you can find fresh fruits, vegetables, spices, and souvenirs. It also has a beautiful botanical garden, where you can see giant tortoises, Coco de Mer palms, and exotic flowers. Victoria is also home to some historical and cultural landmarks, such as the Clock Tower, which is a replica of the Big Ben in London, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, which is the oldest church in Seychelles, and the National Museum of History, which displays artifacts and exhibits related to the history and culture of Seychelles.

If you come for entertainment, Shopping and sex tourism Seychelles is not for you and should go to South east Asia or South America. If you come for tranquility, beautiful adventures trekking, beaches, sun and sea, scuba diving, fishing and a relaxing honeymoon Seychelles will fit your bucket list. That is why it is a beautiful and expensive destination to visit. Seychelles does not welcome backup packer😅 or hostels like tourists. You must have a good budget to visit this country. The Seychelles is unique by a thousand miles as it is the only island in the middle of an ocean formed by granitic boulders. Seychelles has two UNESCO's heritage sites protected for the benefit of humanity. One third of the country's territory is protected as marine or conservation parks. We are the smallest country in Africa not the world. We have a small population that does not mean we do not have deficiencies and problems. Climate changes are affecting our islands, illegal drugs and alcohol consumption, not enough local workers to satisfy the demand in some industries that makes the importation of foreign workforce. We have also achieved things that should be recognised like the highest GDP per capita in Africa, the strongest passport in Africa, less corrupt country in Africa, high literacy rate, 100% electricity connection to everyone in need, also portable water. Education and health are provided to all Seychellois. There are many social benefits provided for those in need, e.g social housing, social security benefits, disabled benefits, free food for public schools, free transport for all public schools and those that does not meet the requirements of minimum salary income set by the state can apply for social benefits. If you qualify for university it is paid by the state. We are a democratic country and the plaque you see on the flag posts is the constitution preamble that clearly states the rights of all its citizens. The small clock is the miniature of the one in London it is a symbol of our colonial past by the British. Seychelles has it's human inhabitants for the past 250 years by the Europeans masters, Africans slaves, Indian and Chinese merchants. All these races had mixed together to form the Creole nation that we are today . Seychelles was first colonised by the French, then the British and got its independence in 1976, a one party state from 1977 to 1993 after a coup detat and a Democratic country since then with free elections every 5 years to choose our leaders.
