The reason this matters is because Rodgers was the one who held a press conference saying "focus on football, all the other BS needs to be out of the building."......Then he goes on vacation during a team event! That's why it matters!

Its real simple folks..... It doesn't matter if he's been attending voluntary events. Missing mandatory events at your job can't be justified by attending all the voluntary ones. Your boss won't care about the voluntary events because they're optional. Mandatory events are not optional, and you can't skip them regardless of how many voluntary events you attend.

In my humble opinion - it's a big deal because it's all about leadership and accountability. It sets the tone for the lockerroom and teammates that your veteran QB is there. Is it okay for a rookie to go to Egypt? In a world of what have you done for me lately, Aaron hasn't produced yet, so I'd be a little annoyed if Aaron wasn't there after the amount of money they paid him and have gotten nothing in return yet.

The only reason this has become as big a deal as it is would be because of the way Saleh, Rodgers and the Jets handled this. First off didn’t Rodgers say himself Jets need all distractions out of the building essentially to focus on football? Seems pretty two sided when that same guy is skipping OTAs without even letting any of his teammates know. Then Saleh went up and made everything 10x worse. Had Rodgers never made the distractions statement and had Saleh knew how to communicate with the media then none of this would even be being talked about 🤣

Acho completely right. Ego gets in the way. Superstars are bigger when they do the right thing knowing they’re superstars. Brady would be a great example. Because ultimately, it’s the principle of the matter. It’s showing you don’t think you’re better than anyone else. Even if you know you are!

Is mandatory mini camp irrelevant yes is missing two days of training irrelevant yes but the bigger problem is he didn’t play last year. The dude has played four snaps. You need to be at everything, the schedule for a while. You can easily reschedule or just don’t schedule it when you have mandatory camp come on. Next, why was every other quarterback there at Mandatory camp and you weren’t?

I think its a big deal because the jets never had a Aaron Rodgers type of QB in jets history so they are in win now mode and they want all hands on deck so everyone is on one accord from mini camp to the regular season

To the argument about rescheduling, we don't know who he was traveling with and their ability to alter their schedules. Also, I'm pretty sure he cleared it with the team first. Lol.
