My feedback on some of your comments: 1. Vegetables are mostly water, even if you eat a large quantity; you might still not get enough fiber if you eat vegetables alone. Whole grains and legumes are forbidden in a keto diet, but they contain a lot more fiber than vegetables. For every 100g of cooked whole grains and beans, there are at least 10 g of fiber, but 100g of vegetables only have 1-2 g of fiber. Legumes are also high in soluble fiber which can help lower LDL cholesterol. 2. In a keto diet, fruits, whole grains and legumes are forbidden because of their high carbohydrate content. But there are a lot of nutrients in these three food groups. People who are on a keto diet for long period of time might develop nutrient deficiencies. 3. Our guts need a wide diversity of plant foods to function optimally. Removing fruits, whole grains and legumes reduces plant food variety and therefore might have a negative impact on our gut microbiome. 4. Carbohydrate gets a bad reputation because refined carbs such as white rice and white bread have high glycemic index and can cause insulin spike. But whole grains are high in fiber and nutrients, and are actually healthy for us, and much lower in glycemic index. 5. We need both carbohydrates and proteins to build muscles. Severe carbs restrictions may result in muscle loss. 6. I think she is biased or doesn't really understand what is a Keto diet. Vegetable is very important in the Keto diet, you can get a lot of fiber from vegetables. Keto is not just about meat.

According to wiki , by definition, ketogenic diet is a high fat , adequate protein, low carbohydrates diet therapy …… I guess taking a lot of vegetables is a modified practice with aim to increase the total volume of food intake without increase in total calories , and also to solve the associated problem of constipation .

Many dieticians are very “mainstream” VS. Dr. Berg’s knowledge for keto is off the chat, I urge everyone who is doing keto to watch dr. Berg's both Chinese n English channels , for a better and thorough understanding of ketogenic diet 🥬🥒🧄🧅🌶🥕🥦🥑🥥🥗🍤🥘🧀🦪🍳🧈
通常生酮飲食配合間歇性斷食,更健康,建議(尤其是醫生及營養師)看腎臟學醫生馮傑森(Jason Fung)及 吉米 摩爾Jimmy Moore 合著的斷食全書(Complete guide to fasting : heal your body through intermittent, alternative-day, and extended fasting )
所謂專業營養師,都係傳統西醫智識去睇Ketosis and fasting! 一盤係半桶水!去睇Dr Eric Berg channel 先至明白 Ketosis and fasting ( prolonged fasting) 點樣做得啱!老人家及diabetes 更加要學Ketosis and fasting!
Yes indeed people on a keto diet tend to have a lower serotonin level. The absence of carbohydrate over prolonged periods of time prevents the amino acid tryptophan from entering the brain where it is converted to serotonin. This could increase the risk of mood changes and depression.
