Let's be honest, if Talion did actually become one of the nine, there's no way Frodo would have made it out the shire.

Well, as a wraith he basicly lost his personality and with it prabably a lot of skill, but yes, if Frodo would face end-game/chapter 4 Talion he would be dead as shit before Gandalf even thought about checking the bushes!

Doi Doi Very true he was like Rouge One in star wars he was not the hero who saved the day he mearly helped to create the opening that would help someone else save it by buying the heroes who would save middle earth years and years of time to prepare. He may have fallen into darkness but he won something that is valuable in any war and that is time.

It's sad in the sense he has to wait and sacrifice to go to his family in the afterlife, his sacrifice in holding back Sauron as long as he did gave the time for Bilbo and Frodo to shape the story of the ring in their own way and for middle earth to prepare for what was to come.

Honesly took me around 5-6 hours of "grinding" after the first ending, to get the "true" one. For me it was amazing, as its meant to show us, how much he had to fight and sacrifice. It helps us to immerse in the story and understand, that he did really fought in an endless war. It just makes the ending soo much better, and emotional. As after so many years, he is finally able rest in the great halls of Mandos awaiting his fate.

I'm sure Talion traveled to the same place Frodo did, regardless of him becoming a Nazgul in the end he held back Sauron from destroying Middle-Earth for decades. I'm sure his actions would grant him access to the Halls of Mandos and then to the Gift of Men after Frodo and Sam freed his soul and spirit from Sauron's grasp.

This ending legit brought tears to my eyes. I don't care about canon, not canon. These 2 games were amazing and the stories they told were great. Look at the trainwreck that Star Wars has become ; we Tolkien fans should be grateful to have these stories and masterful games even with their flaws. Hell, even Tolkien's written lore has flaws. I don't know man.....the amount of bodies he felled in his wake, the brutality and cruelty he inflicted on the orcs.....hard to imagine anyone so drenched in blood entering everlasting peace. I don't know.....in the beginning, Talion had been more man than orc. His time with them....the endless wars he waged with Sauron using said orcs, all of them with their own unique souls.....by the end of the first game he was more orc than man. What he became by the end seemed inevitable, so seeing him walk into that light.....felt like a strange outcome.
@Dragonfire-ko8fs6 жыл бұрын
For losing his family and his fellow rangers, decade's of suffering,pushing back sauron's forces to protect middle earth and losing everything he loved and thanks to frodo he is finally free from darkness for so long he deserves peace.
@andrewroncallo13366 жыл бұрын
Dragon fire 1479 yes but remember, he had the choice to find peace at the end of the first game. His vengeance causes him this suffering. Talion is noble in some aspects of his character, but if anything, his brutality had begun to become more and more prominent. Killing his foes without remorse or pity. He was cruel, nothing excused him from sinking as low as an orc, or as low as the nazgul.
@masterblaster79536 жыл бұрын
i mean it is orcs. Eru hates the orcs anyways. Plus Talion helped others in the first and second game. Orcs betrayed him so can you blame talion? Then his friend did to him? yeah he earned his place.
@andrewroncallo13366 жыл бұрын
I'm not saying he hasn't earned his place, just that it's hard to imagine that someone as brutal as the orcs are, could find peace in the end.
@blueberryindigo30876 жыл бұрын
so what happens is that Talion becomes a Nazgul afther bying time for Gondor so they could rebuild there armie (For the returne of the king event) but he was slowly being cosumed by sauron since the only way to stay in the mortal world he needed a new ring thus he took a nazgul ring (formaly isildur) but in the end frodo destroyed the one ring and freed the other nazgul so they could go in peace.

@F5Metal6 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that, Shelob and Hammerhand was a bit much but the rest was cool and I enjoyed it. They didn't completely change it and they did it out of respect for the original lore, I see it as an alternate universe; if comics can have an alternate universe why can't this or any other book series. It's not like the LOTR movies were 100% accurate to the books, they would be slaves to the material and it would be boring for it to be exactly like the books page for page. It's a different story but same world, setting and feel of the books; and Tolkien fanatics have to respect that. It's not like they made Middle Earth in Europe in the modern era; now that would really be disrespectful, they didn't besmirch anyone's character or story. Except for me in Game of Thrones, usurpers all of them.
@mini22396 жыл бұрын

Well it doesn't make complete sense as the nazgul men were given rings of power, specifically crafted for the purpose of dominating the minds of men. which happened almost 1000 years before Isildur was even born. So there is no way he could be considered part of the 9.
@yeserguitar6 жыл бұрын
Stuart is right. Also in Celebrimbor-Sauron fight, Sauron cut the Ring of Power and since Isıldur is dead there is no way that Sauron lose that ring again. I am checking comments and still trying to find the answer about that. Rings of power? Ring of powers? Rings of powers? Isildurs? Whatever.

Impossible. Once you have become a ring wrath you are doomed to become just a shadow for all eternity without finding peace nor a phisical body. It's something worse than death. People need to realize that for a game to end there HAS TO BE CREDITS AT THE END OF THE DAM STORY LINE. Shadow Wars act IV IS the story of Talion holding back Mordor until the events of the movie version since book version there IS no EYE of Sauron. THEN you get the credits.This IS the ending of Shadow of War and Talion. Not by ANY means the end of the overall story once you defeat Sauron and the Witch-king.

The plot of the game is full of flaws, conveniences and broken lore from the source material... But good lord, this true ending really hit me hard in the feelings and every single hour spent playing as Talion was so worth it: the music, the way Talion finally sheds his battle armor and weapons as he finds peace, that little smile and his strong but quick pace as all the pain, loss and violence are left behind...
@Archelaus_v4 жыл бұрын
Truly was a surprising but yet amazing ending - I didn’t even want to play the last DLC after seeing this or continue to grind fortresses defenses and Orcs. There was no real point after shadows of war and this ending. His story is done and the game is complete ...

But you do realise The Shadow of Mordor series was trying to be its own thing, and did it amazingly well. It doesn’t have to be complete cannon and it shouldn’t be. We basically know everything from the LOTR so why not have a spin off

Time, indeed, makes the difference. Talion fought against the Nazgul for decades, holding back the forces of darkness, sacrificing his own light in the process. He's what's called an unsung hero. No one will remember him, but his sacrifice gave room for an imminent victory against the evil that is Sauron. His legacy is that victory.

No that cutscene was him letting go of his family and by this his vengeance. The sword dropping (his son) and his cloak (gifted to him by his wife), as well as the rose at the end growing by the sword, and the precorrutped ctiy version of the black gate is what he is walking towards.

There are not many games where you know it cannot end well for the protagonist from the beginning and you still wish it would in the end. I mean he died in the beginning of the first game and was revived for the time being with death being the only way he would be with his family again. The ending is one of the most Tolkien one i could think of. It does not show reunion but does not deny it either. It hints higher things instead of explicitly showing and gives feeling of something I struggle to put into the box.

Ru Waring actually shelob saw in a vision that talion and celebrimbor together would've defeated sauron but nothing would have changed since celebrimbor is equally as corrupt as sauron
@thomabow89496 жыл бұрын
Celebrimbor had either two things happen to him: In ROTK, his spirit broke with the now defeated Sauron and fled to the east (you see the blue shape shoot past Mt. Doom). Or he also died, as his essence was tied to the One Ring. Likely the first is the case, as there are DLCs.
@azazel1666 жыл бұрын
Even with the Ring destroyed, Sauron cannot die as he is a near-primordial spirit, however, the Ring's destruction crippled his power to the point of him being unable to ever reform, thus existing in a state of nothingness. Morgoth is still a threat though as he is destined to return, and he's a thousand times worse than Sauron, given the latter was his lieutenant.

Why does Talion look human while riding the nether beast?
@thomabow89496 жыл бұрын
No the Nazgul were Wraiths and only had features in the Wraith realm. There are two explanations: Talion, being a new Wringwraith, still had a corporeal body, and was therefore able to look human. Secondly, the directors of the game put that there to be able to identify him. Or, when Sauron died/diminished, his hold over Talion did so too, and as a result Talion reverted to being a human with a ring.

wouldn't call him "just some ranger", especially being bound to a wraith for decades and having all those extra years of waging war, which means he was fighting a hell of a lot longer than those Kings before they became corrupt. He was also Captain of the rangers, if I recall correctly.
