This kiss was THE KISS. From then on "War of Hearts" became the Malec national anthem, even Ruelle has it published as "War of Hearts #Malec". I loved the friendship Magnus and Ragnor had and how it helped Magnus to fight for what he wanted. Lydia was so good in this episode, I love all the looks she gave Alec during the ceremony to check if he still was on board with everything. AND THEN Alec says it "I can't breathe" and in the scene he previously had in the loft, Magnus told him "You can't breathe when they enter a room" as one of the signs to be in love. I had to tell you that a percent of ppl thought that Alec was going to say to Magnus to get out of the wedding 😂 and where totally flabbergasted when he kissed him in front of everyone 😂 And here you see why Marisse is mad "You give up everything for a Downworlder, and not any Downworlder, it had to be Magnus Bane", yeah Magnus and his reputation... "Are you two in love?" WELP ROBERT HOW DO I TELL YOU? Your son sometimes can be a little impulsive 😅 I just can say good things about this episode, and with you reacting to it, it made me relive the same kind of emotion I experienced the first time I watched it! Thank you and lots of love 💜💜💜

FIRST OF ALL, I LOVE THIS REACTION. Second of all, You: I am not breathing Alec: I can't breathe Me, watching the scene for the first time in 2016: *literally not breathing the entire scene* This scene has left people breathless since 2016😂 I love how insanely good your intuition is in this show. Lastly, I get it if you don't want to, but I would recommend Heartstopper it's a show with Queer topics. Season 2 is coming in August, and the episodes are a bit shorter (between 20-30 minutes). Since you are enjoying Malec, I think you'd enjoy this show too.

i haven't watched this show in a long time and i knew that kiss was legendary but it still shook me again. that kiss has to be one of the best first kisses in a show like damn... this episode i have to admit i couldn't care less about the plot and was just focusing on malec's storyline haha. amazing reaction, can't wait for the season finale (though this ep was more of a finale for me bc of malec lol)!

if you think simon looks like a stud now…just wait for next season😯 it’s obviously not shown in the show to it’s full extent but from the books many people know ragnor fell and magnus were seriously very close and his death definitely had a bigger impact on magnus than we can truly get in the show due to their connection. i really like lydia as a character! i remember I warmed up to her during the trial but her reaction during the wedding seriously made me like her. of course the wedding scene is super iconic and I think there are tons of people who have never even watched the show but have seen that scene😭 (+ simon geeking out after it was adorable) also the lightwood parents are definitely interesting characters in their own but you’ll see in the future! I think because i have seen the whole show im very sympathetic towards jace so i do feel a lot for him and I also think both him and clary are more “likeable” in a sense in the following two seasons. i think because of clary being panicked about her mom and new to the world + jace/alec conflict it kinda makes many people not like them as much in S1 but personally i liked them both much more moving forward

This episode and Malec... even if it ended here, I would be satisfied. I'm not saying that I would give up what's to come or that I don't want a whole spin-off centering around Malec, but the wedding scene was just perfection. Clary who? Valentine? The cup? Who cares, we have Malec.

this episode!!! everyone has been waiting for you to reach this ep! can’t say many ships have an episode named after them, malec remain iconic 😌💅🏼 I really like the small alec and clary scene at the beginning I love people who start out not liking each other and end up being sort of friends lol the beginning malec scene had me on the edge of my seat, I think alec is just scared about his feelings for magnus and what that could mean for him, for his family and magnus really likes alec and obviously doesn’t want him to do this, the chemistry between them is so good 🫣 but not siri coming on during the scene 🤣 also yes simon looks so good 👀 also so does izzy though , the small sizzy scene was very cute and I like them together as well! it’s nice to see jace and alec bond again they needed to talk after everything, I really enjoy their relationship it sucks for clary and jace rn everything must be so akward of course they should talk but jace isn’t one for talking about feelings & jace definitely needs to talk to someone about something bc he’s so angry rn, but at the end you see he’s really going through it, I feel for him this ep. we also get more into magnus and it really sucked to see him lose a friend, but I like seeing another side of him, a more vulnerable side and he did get a great message from his friend to fight for who he cares about everyone looked so so good at the wedding I love when characters get to dress up and everyone slayed!! now to the moment we’ve been waiting for!!! the song, the way magnus came in and said I’m gonna keep fighting for you and the way alec couldn’t face marrying lydia if magnus was there because he knows deep down he wants to be with magnus or at least start a relationship!! I literally started yelling the first time I watched this! I didn’t cry but I almost teared up a little bit, their first kiss was so beautiful! your reaction was so so valid omg I feel you through the screen lol love izzy saying she was proud of alec that is so sweet and simon going off on a tangent and being so happy I love him! you really called that it was hodge good on you, of course through the books I knew he was going to turn on them eventually…. onto the finale!

I loved the Alec and clary scene as well! the respect and understanding between them makes me so happy! Siri really wanted the spotlight, the biggest jump scare I've ever encountered! and I am SO happy that Alec and Jace had that talk and came back together! I knew they would, but it's so sweet! my heart, I was so happy that Alec not only did THAT, but in front of everyone, when he was so scared! I'm going to cry again if I keep going lol hodge is the worst. onto the next!! 🩶

Okay first of all YES they are planning a wedding in the middle of everything, they have priorities! :'D it might have been a bit unclear exactly what they were, but priorities of some kind sure existed! Secondly, in the institute when they have decided what warlock to visit and Magnus turns around to see Alec and Lydia.... that was hilarious. No one wanted to be there and if Lydia hadn't been all trying to be polite etc, I wonder if literally anyone (of the men at least) would have survived :'D Thirdly, when I saw **the thing** that happens in the episode of Shadow & Bone you mentioned, I thought of this episode of Shadowhunters (as we saw the shows in opposite orders). So I also figured that the reactions might be similar :D to be fair there were a few less "Oh my God"'s this time around :D And this wedding scene... gaahh! Honestly one of the amazing things about this show for me is the music. Like yes it's amazing obviously but also, those of us who have seen this show "a few" times can close our eyes and just know what happens in this scene, because the music is sooo well planned. But yeah, that scene is perfeeecct! I feel like I can finally breathe again! :D Oh, genuinely hilarious and equally stupid information: When Malec kiss and it turns to Izzy smiling, behind her to her left is a Silent Brother who is tilting his head to the side like ".....huh?". After I saw that, I can't un-see it. You actually had it in the video, at 17:35 :'D Also, yeah Hodge was one of those things you saw right away, that I sure as sh*t didn't the first time. You were like "do we trust him though?" or something, when he was introduced. And I was like "naah we sure don't girl, but I can't tell you for ten more episodes sooo..." hah. Aaaalso also, super random but just because I couldn't say it in the beginning of the show for spoilers: As my initials are JC, and my first name is Jonathan, when there are too many Jonathan's at work or wherever I am and we are out of nicknames to separate everyone lol, I have stolen "Jace" from this show. It's a quick and efficient-to-say name, plus it's unusual, so it won't be mixed up with someone else. It's not my name-name but I have been called it *a lot*, so the first few episodes of your reactions for this show were preeeeetttyyy trippy for me lol..

yeah, I'm like, the wedding couldn't have waited two days!? like just a couple! everything is so fast!! oh my god, I know right, I said oh my god like 50 times in that video 🤣 I think the main difference is that in that, our boys don't face the same challenges even a little bit. everyone is so confident and secure in who they are that it's just pure fun and like 'oh my god, this is happening rn!?', whereas in this, the stakes are so high in the sense of Alec almost marrying someone else, but also facing the criticism of being with a man and also being with a downworlder, so it's just more emotional for me for sure! (also, omg, I didn't even notice that! love it!) omg, I love that! I love thinking back to little things I may have caught early and forgot about! omg, I love that little fact! how cool! 🩶

You've made it! Your reactions were perfect. Malec is so important to me. I remember picking these books up for the first time when I was thirteen, and reading about a queer character for the first time in my life. I was so surprised that someone actually wrote about a queer relationship. And I had found them when I was questioning my own sexuality, and I remember that just reading about them helped me in a very dark time in my life. When I got to book three I decided to watch the show, and I was terrified that it would not have been potrayed the way I wanted it to. But of course, Harry and Matthew did not disapoint. The first time I saw this, my legs were shaking so hard I couldn't stand up- and yes I cried. It makes me so incredibly happy to see other people enjoy Malec. Thank you for this episode

I admire you for sharing your story. My connection is based on my transgender daughter and the courage she has shown to be her true self. We read the books and watched the series together. My husband even ships Malec! Alec and Magnus being true to themselves and to each other is inspiring. The writers exceeded my Malec expectations in all of the best ways. I always say that love is blessing and it’s worth fighting for.

Commenting this separately because I'm too lazy to edit my first comment lol, but I have to say that while I always get super bad second hand embarrassment from tv shows and often have to like switch tabs or turn off my phone or pause every two seconds lol, when I originally watched the wedding scene I'm pretty sure I literally could not look away. Even though it could cause second hand embarrassment because of the publicity of it, it's never managed to get me. So I totally relate to the feeling like you're gonna die 😂.

@@ryannrodkey5669 Oh Michael and Alex are the most precious OTP I've seen in a while. And they fall under Cosmic soulmates. I realize that in fandom there's a lot of soulmate fiction but it being made by the CW that trolled us forever for the Cas and Dean ship.Finally Apologize by creating Michael and Alex( rnm) and giving them the Epic love story that they should have got the first God damn show. Instead of killing Alex in the first show but that's neither here nor there. Anyway Michael gets fleshed out into a more believable and better character. He's still angry but he's growing and changing because he's not 17 anymore he's literally 27 now therefore he's growing as a person. He still has Max and Isabel if you watch the first show you know what I mean and you know his life is a lot better when Alex comes back to town.. Childhood sweethearts and all that. It's complicated it's a long story and if you won't real uncomplicated storylines for them you'll have to wait till season 3 other than that I give no spoilers.. love them they're awesome. Other than a guaranteed happy ending enjoy they're amazing. I used to say it's kind of Epic like Brokeback Mountain only it gives you a guarantee happy ending and less weirdness in the middle but with aliens.. @@ryannrodkey5669 yeah to be fair the OG show was pretty good the o.g. Alex was Tom hanks's son Colin Hanks. And Katherine Heigl played Isabel. It had its moments but I felt like they were falling behind when it came to shows like Buffy which it's ironic I guess it's the word because one of the writers for Roswell High Source material of both shows actually also wrote for Buffy. But they couldn't talk the station into adding any type of queer cast so I was like I actually did put things like we're content or different storylines well they went ahead and basically kill the og Roswell off. The new show( Roswell New Mexico 2019) when that the source material and made Alex... Manes form the books. And they wanted to make one of the characters queer so they went with the largest ship which was Michael and Alex. This worked out in a lot of ways because Tyler Blackburn was just leaving Pretty Little Liars and was ready to step out of the closet himself being a bisexual male and she just felt very connected to the character Alex. And I'm glad because it gave him the confidence to come out. And that's the difference between a hostile work environment where someone's trying to keep you in the closet as opposed to that working in a good environment where you're encouraged to be yourself. But yeah they are one of my favorite couples in a long time and they they gave me Magnus and Alec vibes. To be truthful there's a lot of it in there. Alex Manes is kind of a nerd and he quotes Buffy and oddly enough of The Vampire Diaries which the guy that plays Kyle is from LOL. Michael has his OG personality to an extent but he's a cowboy and an alien.( and borrow magnus's freewheeling bisexual LOL) One of my other favorites is through your eyes but that's it because I don't want to spoil the show for you in case you want to watch it but it just it's just so cool and there's just so much Sweetness in their relationship it just in the kill me OMG! Their wedding was last year and I'm still gushing about it. Michaelv who plays Michael got that job because he had just been dumped and it was not hard for him to play the Brokenhearted dejected characters beginning of the series.

@@ryannrodkey5669 but if you want beautiful probably the most beautiful Michael and Alex early on that encapsulates the first 2 seasons( one week we want to hug CW the next we want to punch them and demand that they fix this bullshit lol. ) only kind of jokingly it got bad. It's good for people actually watching the show now because they're not left with Cliff hangers I can pretty much just binge till they get to the good stuff. Basically I link the video where we had to and a year and the agony and ecstasy which is the first two seasons before they brought Michael and Alex back on to crack and I'd like to say it was just them but they did that shit with Liz and Max as well.And there were writers in this fandom that Rage Quit this storyline until there was a guaranteed wedding at the end for malex( can't say I blame them)that is why I pretty much just tell people about the wedding now.
