They don't have to stay close to the Books . I mean they don't stay close to the Book already so we have to wait and see what they do with Malec . How far they will go .

I totally agree. Alec is that surly, quiet and responsible type who is never in the limelight coz of another sibling who is a go getter, charismatic and more popular. The way he said why totally shows how curious and baffled he is that someone especially like Magnus noticed him and is interested in seeing him. His attraction towards Magnus and the way Magnus laid out his heart like that is also very baffling for him as he has never been in a situation like this before hence he is stuttering so much here as he really don't know what to say and how to say it

Makes me remind Magnus's quote in The Bane Chronicles. «If Jace was gold, catching the light and the attention, Alec was silver: so used to everyone else looking at Jace that that was where he looked too, so used to living in Jace’s shadow that he didn’t expect to be seen. Maybe it was enough to be the first person to tell Alec that he was worth being seen ahead of anyone in a room, and of being looked at longest. And silver, though few people knew it, was a rarer metal than gold.» He didn't expect to be seen, that's why he looked so confused when Magnus said that he wanted to see him again, almost like didn't believe that something like that could be possible, mostly because all this issues that Alec has with “not being enough”. In my opinion, that's one of the most beautiful things of the shipp, than they can see each other like they really are, not the facade they put on the others, but behind the high walls, and their love grows stronger thanks to that 💙💛💚

"I think you've exerted yourself enough for one day." Even when alec wasn't sure that he liked magnus, he cared for magnus like no one ever did. Everyone wanted magnus to do things asap with his magic but alec actually thought that even magnus must be tired too and he doesn't want magnus to exert himself even a little bit by cleaning his couch by magic. Alec is such a wonderful person.

The Kiss in 1x12 was was something we've been waiting for, but this moment, right there is the most, pure, most touching Malec moment so far. The Kiss was breathtaking, I'm sure we all have been breathless just as Alec and Magnus were, but here you can see all the confusion, uncertainty they both share. They are warriors, yes, but they're also a vunerable creatures and this is the first time they're trying to be open to one another, even though they're not really sure how it'll play out. Matt and Harry have done it perfectly, all of the emotion are just written all over their faces and in body language. It's just perfect and I love it very much.

Every comments here are from 4 years ago and here I am super obsessed with Malec re-commenting on this beautiful scene from season one ,which I don't think I will ever get tired of re-watching. His little flirty gestures, forwardness Alec's hesitation and that feeling about someone giving him full attention, that sexual tension, racing hearts, those smiles so damn freaking romantic, so beautiful and look at magnus he is so gorgeous. Matt and harry has given their outstanding performance here.

+Marielle Glen At this stage Magnus thinks Alec is inside-out gorgeous and he can't fathom why nobody else is seeing it. Magnus is completely endeared by Alec's innocence and simple honesty, but he is also responding to Alec's obvious need for love and attention. He's certainly attracted, but he more wants to help Alec find his confidence and happiness. Magnus finds it difficult to ignore a call for help and Alec is a giant call for help wrapped up in one beautiful and miserable young man. Magnus doesn't expect to fall as deeply as he inevitably does, and when he realizes how much he cares things become a deal more painful for Magnus. I think the other comment was correct, Harry is playing the fact that Magnus is thinking (at this point in the narrative), "this guy is damn adorable!"

+revisum well I don't like it but I do think that for this situation they made up in the writers room to create more drama, it is what they would say. I'm not a fan of the marriage plot line here. I would have much preferred having their story play out as it did in the book or at least something like that. I think the writers are being realistic, not so much taking care rn.

I love it that during the flirting time before the first kiss it was always Magnus taking the lead and putting himself out there with his flirting and attempts to seduce Alec. After they actually start their relationship he is more shy and careful trying not to scare Alec away or hurt him since Alec is so unexperienced. Then it was always Alec taking the lead with the kisses and the first time they had sex.

This might be my fave scene of the whole season. I love love LOVE the kissing scene in ep. 12 but there's just that something in this one. This is still one of my favourite Malec scenes. The music, the looks, Magnus movements, Alec confused look and stuttering, the sexual tension, Magnus finger followed by Alec's smile. Perfection!

My love for this two is unconditionally. I really do hope Alec comes with the terms who he is. And just be free who he is. Like Magnus said a couple of episodes ago. It ain't nothing wrong with it. Last, I can't get over how the made Harry Shum Jr so beautiful. He is beat up to the max.

Such a stark contrast from this Malec to Season 2 Malec in regard to Alec! He’s so closed off, cold, and guarded here. Fast forward to season 2 and he’s ready and willing to show emotion & love towards Magnus. Great development!
