okay, I think Clary and Alec both deserved a moment here. Alec was a victim as much as Jocelyn was...he became a murderer because his mind was controlled and in this scene you can see how badly this affected him. it's addressed better in the conversation with Jace in the next episode as well as the events of 2x08 (with the ledge), but here...here you can see him crying, which is something we almost never see.

I feel so bad for Alec 😭 He truelly feels sorry for what happened and when Clary breaks down he feels even worse 💔 P.S. I wish they would've talked more about the impact that Jocelyn's death had on him and his suicide attempt in s2 ep8 .

But one more thing : did you guys smile too , when Clary and Jace Had sweet Little moments: when they hold eachothers hands, when Jace Catches her, when the went back to stand Next to Alec and He holds her ! Time and time again, Jace steps up when clary breaks. We see it here when she can’t say her mother’s name, and we saw it when she couldn’t bury Simon, so he did it for her

I didn't expect them to kill off Jocelyn. This scene is so sad. I love how they wear white to funerals instead of black since it's their hunting gear. I actually think white is better for funerals.

Part of the beginning almost sounds like The Other Side by Ruelle Also This Funeral was so sad but they completely and totally ruined everything when they killed off Jocelyn she didn't die in the books and she wasn't supposed to die in the show :( I think that that was a mistake that they made also I can imagine how Jace must've been feeling here I mean he finally thought that he could have a mother one that he thought abandoned him and would be able to get to know her better and she is dead right in front of his eyes (this is before he found out that he was a Herondale I mean) also Clary oh my god the emotion on her face when she couldn't say Jocelyn's name because she was too battered and broken hearted to be without her mother and having to except that she was gone was so sad. Also Alec too he must've felt guilt and remorse for killing Jocelyn even though it was an accident and it wasn't his fault and he was in possession of that demon he still felt that it was all his fault in fact he probably wished that that was him and not Jocelyn dead in front of them all. It was still unfair though that Luke and Simon couldn't be there because Simon was so close with Jocelyn she was like a second mother to him. Also I like how even though the silent brothers were killed shortly before Jocelyn the funeral was held for all of them at the same time not just Jocelyn.

I agree the funeral was sad. Although I like how they killed off Jocelyn. She was never truly necessary to the story except for in the beginning. Now I love the books, but every author has their flaws. Jocelyn was only ever brought up as cheap drama in the books, and without it, they would have been pretty much the same. Killing her off on the show gives us this amazing scene with such great acting, as well as eliminates a pretty much useless character. Just an opinion from one Shadowhunters lover to another.

It’s really sad because you se when Alec sees clary walk in he is fiddling with his hands not sure what to do. And then when he sees clary breakdown crying he puts his head down like he doesn’t want to see her hurt.

I can't really decide who I feel more sorry for, Clary or Alec. I can't imagine the guilt he must feel when he sees Clary break down even though it wasn't his fault. And seeing him cry breaks me because we pretty much never see him like this.

I watched somewhere interview and authors said, that Jocelyn had to Die because Clary needed to grow up. Now when my father passed away and I know that there is nobody on the world that could save me from everything and I have to count on myself, I think they had a point in this decision.

I'm scared of what Victor gave Izzy I think she's going get addicted to the stuff I'm worried about her. I feel so bad for Clary obviously this hurt her the most she loved her mom so much, but Alec just gets me here too wish they had hugged each other and cried together even though they don't really get along they're both in so much pain here its so sad. Also sucks Simon and Luke couldn't be there, that kind of ruins it for me.

Max was a loved character by EVERYONE. His death was painful and sad. It almost made me stop reading (although who could stop reading these, they're amazing). I feel like if he lives there is more that can be done with his character compared to Jocelyn.

This video was very depressing. I'm crying so much. Why did Jocelyn have to die? Clary and Jace just got her back. How will Valentine feel? Clary and Jace need their mom. Clary have no other family, only Luke and Simon. Jace has only Izzy and Alec. In the book Jocelyn never died. Why did you change it. This is too emotional. I have never been this depressing.
