At first she did the mixing of voices by herself and then Jim later added his voice to simulate Richard! She even has a video showing how she emulated Chris May’s KZfaq demonstration of how Richard did the layering. It’s amazing! I think, though i am amateur, they’re both musical geniuses, as was Richard of course! But her vocal talent, imo, is unbelievable, miraculous!

You’re referring to The B/D Medley. Initially Tori alone last October. Jim discovered her and that song in February and added himself and she loved it. the rest is now history. Thanks for supporting Tori! ❤

Hi Shakes, I knew you would appreciate this production of the legendary Carpenters song. Tori is 20 years old and is a vocalist, musician, and audio engineer from Minneapolis. Jim Wilkas the production engineer, discovered Tori and they collaborated on this production and others. Tori is a massive Carpenter's fan whose voice naturally sounds much like that of Karen Carpenter, but she covers other artists and has released an original to date. She was invited to perform a few weeks ago at the Carpenters 55th anniversary tribute in LA. Unexpectedly, Richard Carpenter showed up and she had the honor of meeting and speaking with him backstage. She is a special talent and I hope she achieves her career goals. Tori sings like an angel. Ron chose the perfect song to feed your appetite for harmonies. Magnificent mixing and performance by Jim Wilkas and all the Band Hub musicians.

Just to add, Jim put the whole production together performing multiple parts ( piano, vocals, clarinet etc. )! He deserves a lot of credit too!

Hello Shakes! Wonderful reaction! Ron is my friend and told me this was coming. I think you are the first reactor from the Philippines. ❤ I know how much love there is for Carpenters music there. I’m surprised you haven’t covered them yet, but is nobody requesting? Maybe at some point react to the original of this song, Superstar and Rainy Days and Mondays? Get the Carpenters Army to find and help you on your journey to 100K! I’ve seen it before and I’m part of it. I’m also in Tori’s Troops and they will be visiting, too. From what you said I assume you’ve had some Carpenters experiences maybe from family. I’m an OG Carpenters fan, meaning I’m older than you. LOL But not to old to appreciate Tori and her amazing talents. This was only a small sample of her skillz. She’s a multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer. Though this one was Jim’s masterpiece, Tori has put together som amazing examples. Most of her videos are shorts. But she does have a small library of full length songs and videos. Two are originals that were given to her to sing when they heard her. Have fun with this one. Joe

Hey Joe, Thank you for the info - pretty cool. The Carpenters have a MASSIVE following here, I literally can not go anywhere that has Karaoke here (Which is everywhere) lol without hear at least 2 Carpenters songs sung lol. I only react to what is requested! But now that you have, looks like the Carpenters will be premiering on the channel! All the best.

@@Shakes-P I know from Karaoke. My mom in her last two years was in a care home mostly run by Filipinos. Very nice caring group. Great food, I was invited to events where they all cooked and OMG. Mom loved the food there. When I did tech support in the late 1990’s I was on “Team Flip” our leader, Yolanda and Hernane and another were all Filipino. I learned a lot. I have been trying to find a reactor from the islands there and Ron beat me. I’m looking towards Japan, too, BIG Carpenters still happening there. They need to know about Tori. KZfaq introduced me to her last October. I met Ron in February because of this and Tee Spicer, our paths crossed there. From November to February it was just me, then I noticed a reaction I didn’t ask for,,,Ron! LOL. She’s a rabbit hole but just some full lengths. Getting there for sure. I can tell you all her full length songs/videos are on KZfaq. IG and TT are Short Central. IG shorts may be longer than KZfaq ones, I’m not on TT so 🤷🏻‍♂️. Wanna get blown away. (I know you thought this was amazing!) Go to IG find her short of Crazy On You. Add “Music” to her name for the channel. I’lm subscribed and enjoying. Joe

"superstar" is my favorite carpenters song, but "rainy days and mondays" capture karen's voice the best. the only other singer that touches the soul like karen carpenter would be haley reinhart imho. although their tones and tambour are different, their vibratos are eerily similar and they both have the unique ability to make you feel like they are singing directly at you...😎

Shakes! Jim not only mixed the audio, but put together this insanely well-done video. You might appreciate something about Tori, besides her singing. Her singing is incredibly beautiful ... brings me to tears every time I listen to her. But, know what? You were talking about harmonies? At her site is a video demonstrating how the Carpenters overdubbed. She actually sings the different parts into a TASCAM multitrack deck, one at a time; then she plays the whole thing back all at once. On that video, she laments that her Pro Tools sequencer is giving her problems that day, so she just does it the old-fashioned way, on a recording deck. :) She's got a really, really good ear. She recently released another song she produced herself on which she sang all the parts, and she did this in her home studio festooned with anechoic wedge foam squares. She's really brilliant.
