Having the mindset of doing your best is very important When you compare yourself with others, if the classmates you see are not revising, then you would waste your time together, thinking that if your competitors are just enjoying themselves, then so should you. However, there are always some people whom you don't see, are working hard, and they would get a much better result, thus you would rank below them always. Therefore, strive your best and let it be.

Thank you for this! I have a law exam in 2 weeks and keeping on top of the weekly reading, tutorial questions and lectures is legit the most important thing you can do! I also make myself known to the lecturer asking why I got these marks, what was good and what wasn’t and other questions just so they know how serious I am. Very good tips! Thank you

Hi Shane! Sorry that this is so late - but I was wondering if you had any advice as to how to start university strongly? As in, what should someone in Year 12 be doing over the summer to prepare themselves for excellence in the uni environment?

Hey Shane, during your time at USYD, how many courses did you do per semester and if you hppen to do too many courses per semester, how would you split your time in order to do well in each course without feeling you aren't burnt out all the time? Also, what is the grade that you need to be in to qualify for those internships?
