I was wondering why the last episode did not show a printed object. I have gone through similar learning curve with my Printrbot and now confirm I was not the only person having so many issues to get this thing to print. Another thing is to be able to model an object that can print correctly. I send a hugh to Shannon :)

@ 5:55 "nail polish" or 'nail polish REMOVER'. Although nail polish remover and acetone are essentially the same the straight acetone is probably less expensive. Instead of using that big giant container to do the cleaning of the part, you should use something that is only slightly wider and longer than the extruder like a nail polish remover cap, or some other cap. Acetone and nail poslish remover are highly flammable and vaporize extremely fast so if you expose large surface amounts to the air you will likely lose more to the air than to actual use. Also don't use any plastic items that have a chance of being used to hold food in the future.

You should try Cubestick instead of Aquanet purple hair spray or blue tape. This works alot better for me. Little more of a clean up, but a little nail polish remover works well to help remove the remaining glue.

With my Printrbot Simple, I had a similar problem. My extruder was not heating up to the right temperature. Someone on #reprap IRC suggested I try Kliment's Printer Interface, also known as Pronterface, instead of Repeater. with pronterface I was able to start printing.

I'm a machine tooling technology student and veered in that direction directly because of interest in commercial rapid prototyping and 3D printing. So being able to write off a 3D printer purchase as the educational tool that it is, Ive come up with about a $1000 budget. So I am asking; What 3D printer, for $1000 or less, would be the easiest to get rockin and rollin? Ive already started playing with designs on Autodesk 123D Design, and items from Thingaverse. Thanks!
