If they are able to grow it to a billion dollar IP then you can look at it two ways, either celebrate because that partnership gave you the means to do it at all, or be bitter that they took so much of the company. All depends on if you're an optimist or a pessimist. If this does blow up because of the assets that Kevin and Mark already have in place, I don't think they'll be complaining because 70% of a billion is way more than 95% of a few million.

I feel like Mark is the real winner here. Smart guy, getting into a deal knowing Kevin will do most of the heavy lifting and has all the resources they need, yet still own the same amount of the company as Kevin.

Mark has a handful of media/entertainment investments, but nothing substantial as far as I can tell. Most of his investments are sports, tech, food, and health.

I went to high school with Kevin. We never interacted unfortunately, but were constantly in each other space every day. I use to catch the 58 bus with him and he was so quiet. It's amazing to see him now. Congratulations Mr. Hart, you sure make Philly and Washington High proud!!!

Its the perfect business to invest in, especially at this present moment ! they had proven growth, they have profits, they have clear ways to expand and grow. 30% is a lot tbh but kevin and mark are really worth it since how much they can offer! The guy should have countered at 25%, accepted a no and then been super happy to be in business with Kevin Hart. I’d have been jumping up and down, but I’d also have had him agreed to an animation series as part of the deal

They should have negotiated a little more in a reasonable way - like 25% or 30% but once Mark and Kevin get their 500k back then to drop it to 20%.

I saw a glimpse of this Kevin from The Upside but I never knew it was his actual side he was portraying. He he’s incredibly smart when bringing the subject of toys. I never thought of that and neither did these people. TOYS is where movies, comic books, cartoons make the literally all their money.

But 20% would of been just for money. Since Kevin is bringing in the artist and all the tech team from Mark, that's more resources and well worth the extra 10%. They not spending more money trying to find these people or hire them, Kevin has them and its just pay for the job scope...

No he’s not arrogant ppl get on the shoe and get caught up in the motions like it’s a game. I needa go back and forth like they’ve seen before. Sometimes the sharks at like you’re a guppy if you don’t Counter and other times they act like you’re stupid to even see if there’s a better deal. One the sharks usually do all the extras for tv and entertainment purposes also. Plus they’re partners no one person is bested than another if you want something that makes you’re partner feel uneasy explain to them I’m not trying to rip you off because you’re In A vulnerable position so I’m simple taking advantage to get more, no I bring value in not only making but saving money so that’s why I’m asking for more because besides spending time I’m also giving tangible resources that will save you 100s or 10s of thousands.

Somehow, Kevin being a serious businessman, which I think he actually kinda is, still makes me laugh while making a deal 😂 this man can do it all. Mark is right, the money on the comics is way higher than I thought it would be, but I would say streaming a franchise is the best route to go. Low overhead cost initially. Wishing your team the best 💪💎

Love this! I’ve seen Black Sands on social media and it always intrigued me to see a story based on Black History before slavery while showing our people in the forefront being powerful and awesome.
