@Shamelessly Poetic Wow! He seems more emotionally mature than her. Probably because her mental growth was stunted due to getting abused massively in her teens.

@@shamelesslypoetic2066the age difference was way more than that. He is 18 and she is at least in her early 40’s. It’s really hard not to feel bad for Richard at the end of the scene.

@@shamelesslypoetic2066 Some liberties with casting I guess. At the time of filming, Amy Adams was like 44. I know she looks good for her age, but 30s is a bit of a reach.

@@shamelesslypoetic2066 I see that now in the book that she was in her 30s. I think another reason I assumed she was in her 40s is that Chris Messina, who played Richard, is 9 days older than Amy Adams. Since they are nearly the exact same age, I just assumed they were both supposed to be early to mid 40s.

I ship her more with Richard (haven't read the book version). I wish they picked up after.

if it makes you feel anybetter in the book richard never called or tried to get back to her after he saw her scars.

​@@nishthakaushik4766Yeah, well. They're two completely different interpretations of the character. Richard is obviously more of a good guy in the series. Which was why people feel bad for This Richard.
