You don’t tell a suicidal girl that things won’t get better. That very well may be true but you always want to believe things can happen!

Camille should not have told Alice that things will not get better. Even if that’s the truth, she should have at least given her hope.

Surprised Camille is still on good terms with Jackie, consider she knew what Adora did for all those years. I kind of get the feeling Camille is slowly willing to let Jackie back in again overtime.

Camille already knows the truth of Adora, how Marian died, what the medicine Adora is about to give her actually does. But still she feels happy about being cared by her mother and being invited into her mother's room, to her bed for the first time. Happy because finally she gives up fighting with her mother for the first time. Gillian Flynn is a goddam genius to depict a relationship so close and fucked up at the same time.

Amma says a line when you first meet her to the effect of getting the attention of boys is easy but girls are so easy. That's why allows herself to be poisoned and gets jealous and kill her new friend at the end because Camilla is praising her new friend.

Adora seems like a good person Unfortunately her illness got in the way of that
@20000dino
@20000dino 8 ай бұрын
Munchausen by proxy IS NOT a real mental illness. Adora might be afflicted by something else (probably something in the spectrum of psychopathy), but I really don't see why this is relevant at all. She's not a good person, and you're a fool if you think she is by the end of the show. She is a master manipulator with narcissistic tendencies. If you were in the show, you would've been yet another brainwashed id*ot in that sh*thoIe of a town (had to censor the word "id*ot" because KZfaq is a f*cking joke).

So basically the only reason why Chief Vickery & Richard show up is because Adora called them after Camille didn't come home the previous night. John wasn't arrested and Camille drives John home. The conversation between Camille and Richard didn't happen in the motel, but when Camille goes to the police station to talk to Richard after dropping John off.

@@moonbearz_ Not at all. Amma's portrayal was the greatest let-down by far. I've read the book many, many times. I love it haha one of my absolute faves. If I hadn't read the book, I likely would have liked the show just fine, but there are so many aspects of the book-vital aspects that could make for wonderful tv-that were neglected. Sucked.

@@moonbearz_ Nothing against the actors in the show. I did think Amy portraying Camille as soft-spoken and timid was a little overdone. Camille is traumatized and in some ways fragile, but the way she communicates in the book is more reserved than trembly/weak-kneed. Do love Amy, though. Amma is an incredible character in the book, and perhaps the most important. Too old in the show, and not at all the same.
@lastsaint7778

@@moonbearz_ Also, the scenes w/ Adora and Alan being overtly cruel to Camille were a little too poor-me. It's more subtle and realistic in the book. Gone Girl movie is fantastic, but in all fairness Flynn wrote the screenplay, so of course it's going to be great lol

It’s hard not to feel bad for Richard in the scene. Dude is a hard-working cop trying to solve a murder, then finds the woman he has been seeing in bed with the main suspect, who is less than half her age. He knew that Camille was mentally and emotionally damaged in some way, but he had no idea how far it extended. Anyone who has ever been with a damaged person before knows how this feels when it hits you and you see how screwed up some people can be. He legitimately cared about her, but just got in over his head.

I think there was a small part of her that felt like she was fulfilling her destiny, and even some smaller part of her that felt good receiving maternal love from her mom finally… but overall her plan was to stop her mom from poisoning Amma, since she saw a repeat situation happening. Also she wanted to prove her mom was guilty by being the victim herself.
