Shattered Oaths
In the Shadow of Divine Betrayal
A Poem by T N Teague
Encased in ice, the daughter left to cry,
A fire god's heart, she thought she knew so well,
Alone and for eternity to sigh.
-
Before the temple's blaze, she wondered why,
With trembling hands, a darkened tale to tell,
Encased in ice, the daughter left to cry.
-
A knife held high, her courage reaching sky,
The pyre's flames reflected her farewell,
Alone and for eternity to sigh.
-
Her blood, a sacrificial lullaby,
Sizzled in fire, a crimson carousel,
Encased in ice, the daughter left to cry.
-
The gods' realm lay beyond her father's lie,
Where flowers thrived in emerald fire's spell,
Alone and for eternity to sigh.
-
In halls of gods, her voice a battle cry,
Against Svarog, where love and vengeance dwell,
Encased in ice, the daughter left to cry,
-
Alone and for eternity to sigh.
