@xamanda89 Home field advantage is a very real thing. Momentum is just as huge as well. There is an energy that athletes kind of feed off of and even if it's a placebo affect it's still extremely powerful. When one athlete does well it really boosts the confidence of the next. Look at the men's team during the 2008 team final it was amazing. The women here were really fighting an up hill battle.

@chinghxd You are right!! I don't understand people who say that China won just because the Olympics were in Beijing!! I don't think that they would say that USA women won in Atlanta and USA men in Los Angeles because the games were in America..

i feel like when theres a team competing in their own country for the olympics, they seem to excel, due to patriotism, i believe. china excelled here, they probably felt pressure to honour their country, therefore pressure to place 1st, and they did. 2010, my country had the most medals. (canada) it just makes a little too much sense that china would win gold when the olympics is hosted in their country. but only because the athletes felt the extra pressure, and seemed to perform well under it.

I remember how emotional it was. I knew the American team had performed Gold but since the judges were suspicious helping the Chinese team , it was very hard to wait.
