Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZfaq, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZfaq. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZfaq, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Yes, the Nirvana version of The Man Who Sold the Earth is a cover of Bowie's original song. Not a lot of Nirvana's fans realized that.

This was 1971. Let that sink in. Go look at photos of people in 1971. Look at how they dressed, what they looked like. Now look at Bowie here. I don't think there has ever been a bigger difference between the general population, and an artist in history. I don't think there ever will be again. It's hard to comprehend just how different Bowie was back then. I mean he looks pretty amazing in 2024, but 1971 was brown and beige and side-partings.

Piano provided by the wonderful Rick Wakeman. This was on the album Hunky Dory, the album just before he made it big with Ziggy Stardust. After Ziggy hit big, they released Lufe On Mars as a single and it became huge too

Literally my hero. Growing up in the age of Leave it to Beaver with ole June Cleaver. I was expected to fit into that somehow. I was a little creative freak and when I heard and saw Bowie, I knew I would be alright. I promptly went out and got a Bowie Cut and donned the rhinestones from the Goodwill and went from little creative freak to a glamourous mystery in the world of females with their hair parted in the middle. Haaa Bowie made it ok to be authentic. God Bless Him. Forever Grateful

A proper remembrance of David Bowie at the time of these anniversaries. He is missed. I've owned his "Hunky Dory" release on LP, cassette, CD and now MP3. You won't regret checking out Bowie's "The Man Who Sold The World." I appreciate another great reaction, Shawn.

David was the chameleon of music! Never afraid to experiment. This song came from his ziggy phase. My favourite phase! He taught entertainers that you cannot put all your eggs in one basket! Achieving success is great! Maintaining success is the biggest challenge!

Not 1973. "Hunky Dory" came out in 1971 before Ziggy Stardust which came out in 1972. The single was released in 1973 to cash in on Ziggy's popularity but it was on the 1971 album.

Man, as teenager I loved this song, yes SOME of his songs from the EARLY days. I never found out whether he was a rebellious snob or a snobbish rebel; he lived in Switzerland like I do, know a few things. A lot of this chameleon was surely an artificial attitude!?!

No other than Rick Wakeman (Yes) was responsible for the piano arrangements here. Love everything about it. The visuals, the arrangements, the lyrics are great. There's a great story about how this song came about. Had something to do with Frank Sinatra.

Bowie played the song to Rick on a bashed up 12 stribg guitar then left him to do his thing. Smart move. Bowie was brilliant at choosing the right musicians and then leaving them to it.

I think that the reality the girl is trying to escape is that she is pregnant and abandoned - "her mother is yelling no and her daddy has told her to go and the man is no where to be seen" - sadly this was a common out come of this for girls in that situation in the 1970's . I think you would really like Cat people( putting out fire with gasoline) which has been used in a number of films including quentin Tarantino - it is very powerful and as a contrast the beautiful ballad wild is the wind. so many sides to bowie .

Yes, Bowie was at the height of his Ziggy Stardust period when this single was released! Shawn, if you would like more insights into David Bowie the man, I’d recommend this interview from 2002 with the late great interviewer, Sir Michael Parkinson. And yes, the other guest onstage is Tom Hanks 😊 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oMxmdsWqxqjUnmw.htmlsi=C1-IJL71bcqiZ7MO

At times Bowie would write phrases, lyrics to fit the meter of the music. Not every song of his is a literal story. We are not sure if there is Life on Mars, except some ancient bacteria. Doctor Who, epic British TV, had a story set on Mars, where the astronaut base was named. Bowie Base One (2009, Water of Mars)

Specifically, "Comme d'habitude" is French for, As Usual, or Same as Always, depending on context. I know the original song, and I know the Sinatra song... Bowie's innate creativity blows both to smithereens! ;-]

I requested the official video because that's the one I wanted him to react to. (You do know that when he reacts to a video, he's seeing it in its original, unaltered state? Sometimes he has to alter a video later to able to post it.) Most reactors do have to alter some of their videos.
