Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZfaq, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZfaq. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZfaq, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

They got their name from a cat in T.S. Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats," which was the basis for the musical "Cats." The specific poem was "Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer." They hail from Ashford, Surrey, UK.

I was a little kid when this came out and I remember whenever this song came on the radio I would start dancing and then I would sing this tune for the next 6 hours or so. I didn't know all the words so I sang the di-di-di da-da-da part of the chorus all afternoon, driving my parents crazy.

Back in the day, we heard this on the radio. Perhaps some of us bought the album. But we never saw a video of it back then. It wasn't a thing yet and music videos didn't really become a thing until MTV came on the scene in the 80s and they showed new videos primarily.

Although Mungo Jerry were one hit wonders in the U.S., they had 6 Top Twenty hits in the United Kingdom, including another number 1 hit (Baby Jump), all in the early 70s. Also worth a listen are "Alright, Alright, Alright" and "Lady Rose".

MUNGO is the term for reused wool. A couple of "controversial" lines, especially by today's standards: "Have a drink have a drive go out and see what you can find", and the other one "If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal, if her daddy's poor just do what cha' feel." Hmm. Good ol' 70's summertime music.

Another line is "speed along the lane, do a ton or a ton and twenty-five" meaning drive (or ride) 100 or 125 mph. After a drink, of course.

Did you do summertime blues from the San Francisco band blue cheer it is a cover for them but it’s amazing.

Saw them open for Steve Miller at the Fillmore East back in 1970. After their set they threw hundreds of kazoos into the audience. Stevie "Guitar" Miller was not pleased for obvious reasons

If you love the jug sound, you gotta listen to The 13th Floor Elevators' "You're Gonna Miss Me". Released in 1966, the jug certainly gave the band a distinctive sound.

These guys are from England, not America. A lot of people thought they were from the south or that they were Hillbillies. They sort of look like it, but they're from Great Britain.

ok..im gonna do this....dont mean to wreck your vibe. the man singing this song wrote the hit "feels like i'm in love" for elvis to sing, but by the time it was to be sent to elvis he died. a few years later...it was sold to a music company that put it out and arranged it to be a disco song. this man wrote alot of music that you would be suprised that it came from him.

Fun song, but for this one lyric "If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal, if her daddy's poor just do what you feel". Does that mean it's okay to rape poor girls? I don't think so ! I like the song but I still cringe every time I hear that.
