That “hey I’m vlogging here” send me into a whirlwind of nostalgia

It’s weird coming back after not watching for awhile and seeing everyone all grown up

I remember when Daxton was born and now he literally looks like Brock when he was little. At the beginning of the vlog I thought Daxton was Brock.

I return after like 5 years and the moment I hear that "HEY! IM VLOGING HERE!" ...it felt like home again...

I looked forward to watching these every year on Christmas day. Y'all really were my childhood!

My mind is literally blown that Gavin is going to be in college soon. I will always remember when you guys were watching the missionary come home at the airport and Shay told Gavin not to blink or his life will go by. I think I blinked because it’s been 7 years :(

Zeke just nonchalantly lying on the couch while the kids did their dramatic entrances by him was funny. Dogs are the best at that age. They've seen it all, don't have the energy to react to everything and we value their presence more than ever.

Seeing all these comments on how everybody was raised with this family makes me realize how much you guys have impacted people from all parts! Literally cried when Gavin hugged Shay & Colette after his last present. I’ve been watching these videos since Gavin was 6 years old. I cried when shay handed Gavin the knife and he said thank you. I remember many many many years ago he was teaching him how to properly handle a knife and he said “always say ‘thank you’ that way the other person knows you have it” and the fact that he is almost 18 and still does this 😭😭😭😭

Watching the younger boys fight and then Gavin literally held them both apart like some sort of super human brother, that was alarmingly impressive, that old kiddos a beast, amazing job guys.

Oh my god its been years since ive seen the Shaytards or even looked the family up and the sight of 'Lennie' (sorry if i got the name wrong) made me tear up. I cant believe Carlie finally got her little girl.

Boy talk about an unexpected gift that is sorely needed. I absolutely loved Brock's stop motion. That was actually REALLY good. He even found lego heads to match you. I've been here since the beginning. I remember Shay standing in the shower talking to Colette about starting a daily vlog. I remember the old houses, Gavin doing the worm and being slung out of a golf cart, Emma being on the CD cover and Shay crying about it seeing it on TV and her flying down the street in a soapbox derby race. Avia hiding under the bed after being embarrassed about liking Cesar, Malachi and his terrible farts, and Brock's "bow and arrow" ;). All the stories, music videos, and the incredible journey you guys have been on. I blinked and your family grew up. Kinda mind boggling.

Not gonna lie, when my phone said “Shaytards posted a video: Christmas Special 2020” I legit almost was jumping for joy cause the highlight of my Christmas growing up was watching Shaytards Christmas special and after the year we had, I truly needed that. Thank you Shay. I’ll never forget how all of your videos helped me keep going when things got touch.

I remember watching and thinking to myself, "That's the kinda life I want when I'm older. A big, loving family who does a ton of fun stuff all the time." And here I am 12 years later, happily married with 3 kiddos. I couldn't be happier 🥰 Thank you for being such a huge part of so many lives!

This one made me emotional. Such nostalgia. I'm reminded of how/why you guys captivated the internet. You're all so full of positive energy as individuals, and also as a family unit. It particularly made me emotional when it was mentioned that Gavin (I almost typed Sontard, I'm still reluctant to give up those names since the Shaytard Rebellionite days, but I'm trying to change) is about to be 18 and may not always be here for future family events anymore. I would watch these pretty much everyday. i would go really far back just to be able to “start from scratch” and the love in this family is amazing. i was sad at first because it wasn’t a big extravaganza how it usually is but i realized that doesn’t matter. you don’t have to be surrounded by bunches of people, just the ones who will always stick by your side no matter what. and that is what this season is truly about. i pray rainbows in y’all’s futures but i also pray for those hard days because those are the ones that will make you strong a build you up. Shay, your family was my getaway when I was 16 and my mom was suffering with drug addiction. I’m now married, 28 and just gave birth to my little girl in August. It took me a while to mentally be ready to watch this. I was going to watch it when it came out, but I found myself struggling. I realized I wouldn't enjoy it fully if I had watched it then, and turned it off. The 2014 christmas special has been the video I've watched and gone back to every time I was stressed, had anxiety, or was feeling very depressed or empty. That video has gotten me through so many things. I just now got to watch this, and I'm so glad I waited. Thank you. Thank you so much.

wow...the kids are all grown up now..I remember watching your first KZfaq video. I remember all the music videos you guys made, all the dinners, the cooking, the valentines, the christmases; especially all the matching outfits and all the competitions you guys would do in the big gymnastics gym. You've all truly grown up, and it made me cry because you guys were my inspiration, my happiness. I ALWAYS looked forward to watching the new videos come out everyday. I truly love you guys so much.

Shay, you have literally taught me more to life in how to treat others with respect and love then anyone or anything I have ever experienced. I watched your videos for years and each Christmas the main thing I was looking forward to was to just watch the hour long special. When you were posting daily vlogs I truly felt like I was part of a different family, and the fact that Im turning 21 this year scares me. If 14 year old me only knew the knowledge and love I was getting myself into when I clicked on my first shaytards video. I know I'm not the only one when I say this but you all have helped so many of us put smiles on our faces after the longest and hardest days of our lives so far. But, Its truly insane to have watched your family as well as you're siblings channels grow as well. It was truly like I was a part of the family even though you have no idea who I am. From all of the whacky moments, to the family sing alongs, as well as the backyard fun, the way your family has grow and evolved as a family is truly inspirational. I’ve literally sat today and watched every Christmas special, from the first one you guys did in 2009 to this one, it’s amazing to see as your kids grow older and mature!

Honestly, I have watched EVERY single one of these Christmas specials every year. I always get SUPER excited for it to come out on Christmas or after. Last year, I watched them all (previous ones) on my birthday (December 16th) and then watched the one that came out (this one) on Christmas as I was opening gifts. These always bring me so much joy and happiness, I have no idea what I would do without the Shaytards on Christmas or any other day you guys upload.
