Technically Shazam is faster than flash. Flash is only faster because, most specially Wally, because they can fully access the Speed Force. Shazam doesn't have full control of his speed coming from mercury since in the comics, Mercury is the split version for the roman god Hermes. There was also a time that Shazam was asked by superman in the comics to stop a full speed Flash. Superman stated that if Flash is actually in full speed, (thus debunking the only one time Superman won in a race against Flash, and solidifying he let Superman win) he will not be able to catch him - only Shazam can. Since he has the power of the God of Speed. If you go by DC lore, Gods realm most specially any Gods are more powerful than any superheroes. The speed force realm is also below the Gods Realm.

I think it’s a bad decision to recast any of the actors unless of course if they don’t want to come back. They already have good actors that most fans are attached to. The problem was with the writing and directing.

I don't think the issue is with Sha ams writing and directing But the damage of the DCEU as a whole At best I think the Shazam family could be used as supporting characters in other people's movies if James Gunn is using Young Justice as a template They don't need to be recast because I doubt they would even make another new Shazam film considering the performance of the first movie

I can't imagine another actress playing Wonder Woman other than Gal Gadot. Of course they're other actresses that can play the character but she set the standard for this generation and a recast in the near futurre might not even fair well at the box office

I can. Just my opinion but she hasn't placed a stamp on Wonder Woman to be synonymous with the character. Not like Robert Downey Jr, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, or even John Cena.

I liked Gal Godot and her acting, but she didn't have the physique for the role. She's a model, she has a stereotypical models figure, which is very different from an Amazonian figure.

You should know that even though they hired James Gunn, he's still not gonna be in charge. There are a lot of people above James Gunn that will still be calling the shots. There's no such thing as one person being responsible for multi-billion franchises. Not Kevin Feige, not the president of a country, no one. It's always a collaborative effort between investors, owners, showrunners, and other business partners. James Gunn's voice will be heard the loudest but it's not up to him what the final product will be.

went to see the movie this afternoon. Amazingly enough half of everyone in the theater left after the dinner scene. And then everyone left after the JSA recruiting scene so I was the only one to seen the Dr. Sivanna scene. I totally caught that Elvis number at the end. I know that Elvis was a Shazam superfan as a kid. I loved the scene with the random civilians on the street called Shazam Captain Marvel.

The last hour of the movie was freakin’ EPIC. That WW scene was amazing. I knew they were doing a cameo scene & honestly thought it was a post-credit scene. Man, was I wrong! I had a hard time trying to get behind some of the humor in the film. This was like almost a direct copy to the Black Adam movie which I watched again right after.

SHAZAM ( his speed is comparable to the flash. he can fly at supersonic speeds in orbit . he can also fly at sub-light speeds in space and in some comics he has flown faster than the speed of Light. Beacue he has the power of MERCURY. 😮

I’ll be honest I really wasn’t that excited about this movie and since I found out that they’re kind of rebuilding the universe, some characters are changing actors, but some aren’t which is kind of like hell flashpoint is in the DC comics too. Somethings stay the same, but others change, so I do like that aspect, but once the made the announcement that they were doing the reboot, I wasn’t as excited for the 2023 DC movies as I was. That and I had heard the reports a couple weeks ago that they weren’t expecting this movie to make a lot of money and there just wasn’t a lot of hype and honestly the trailers didn’t do much for it either, but I was going to go check it out because I made DC die hard fan and I thought I would probably have the same experience that I did with Black Adam, which was I thought it was a good movie, I was entertained, but I really didn’t get blown away by it and wasn’t a movie. I was going to go back in theaters in Watch again…… oh, that was not the case with Shazam Fury of the Gods at all . I really love this movie. I was entertained from beginning to end and I actually like this movie twice as much as I liked the first Shazam movie. There was never a part in the movie where I was bored, or checking to see what time it was, I was surprised on how many different emotions I failed. There were times I was dying, laughing in times I was almost in tears. It also gives me a lot of hope that both the current versions of Shazam and Wonder Woman are going to stay apart of the DCU. For me honestly this was the most fun I had, and the most enjoyment I had from a comic book movies since last year’s The Batman. I had more fun in more enjoyment, and was just overall more entertain, watching this than I was with Black Panther 2, Thor, love and thunder and Black Adam. I’m not saying those movies were bad I didn’t dislike any of them but it was easily three times better than Thor love and thunder and it was a better thought out movie then black Adam, and while I agree that the acting and directing was better in the second Black Panther movie, I found myself board a lot during the black panther sequel wear with this one. I was just entertained all the way through watching this new Shazam movie.

all those problems with the rock... vin diesel, fast and furious franchise, black adam, his special treatment requests during the black adam premiere promoting his alcohol drink for a pg-13 movie... makes it sound like things have been turning sour for him in hollywood. while not completely to blame, egos and special treatment tend to mess up a good thing.

It's cool. He made his send off with his cut that all future DC movies (not in the Black label like Batman and Joker movies) will be compared to. Let the ones that were the loudest in hating his direction & vision keep these upcoming Disney-lite movies afloat. Not really interested in another slew of comedy CBMs to sit through.

I wish they would get Henry Cavill back and I think Dwayne Johnson was great as Black Adam. He had the edge.

I only saw Superman, Capt. Marvel and Black Adam in the animated short movie. Would love to see them in a live action in Shazam 3.

Of course this does kind of change things for the back story in Wonder Woman Number one would they were supposed to mostly been killed off by dark side and then black Adam's power because if he received the power then where did the others get their power from? Weren't all gods except ww and ares supposed to be dead?

IDK about the movies, they never explained it, but in the comics he actually got his powers from the Egyptian and Mesopotamian gods, then the wizard made a deal with the Greco-Roman gods after they trapped Black Adam in the rock.

I know this has been said a lot but with the new direction that the DCU is the going forward with. I still feel it's a cinematic tragedy that Snyder wasn't/hasn't been granted the privilege of finishing his story.

Snyder might get that final chance now with Netflix. Rumours about the Darkseid invasion comeback is around the corner. Which may set up for the reboot after Flash movie.

I feel like it would be better to just reboot everything and start from scratch. But seeing as how they probably won't, I hope they make up with Dwayne Johnson because right now I can't see anyone else being Black Adam in live action. I wish they had made a reference to the Animated Justice League movie called Justice League War where Shazam proposed their name to be "The Secret Seven". That would have been great.
