What a great take you have on this song. I agree with it, people don't want to get in their feels. I'm suffer from mental illness and with the fact way the world is now, the US government who can't tell the truth about anything. That makes it so much harder when you constantly have to fight your mind to tell what's real and what's not; it's so unfair. I remember when there was truth not versions of the truth. When you talk about your childhood and what you went through I tend to ask myself what your dad's childhood was like. He may not have known how to break the cycle. Not that I am excusing the behavior. I just wonder what your parents childhood was like and what made them be the way they were/are. It's so heartbreaking that you had to live in that. I'm so sorry. No child should have to grow up that way.

Hi Anton! I am a huge NF fan. At some time in her life NF's mother became severely addicted to pain pills. Himself and his two sisters suffered because of this. NF has stated that his mother lost custody of the children and they lived between his father and his grandparents. His father wasn't a very active father in his life, but he did the best he could. Not much is known about his father's background and NF really never talks about much of that. His mother was trying to get clean around the time that NF graduated from high school. She relapsed and took a huge dose of pills killing her a few weeks before his graduation. We are unsure as fans if it was deliberate or accidental. NF never elaborated on that specific part, only saying she died of overdose. That's why he talks about the graduation in this song. He now has a one-year-old son and has since, through therapy and getting older forgiven his mother. I can't relate to this song personally because I had a pretty decent childhood. But as a mother and a grandmother I feel for this young man because of the pain he and his siblings had to go through. He has become my favorite rapper ever. I really enjoyed your video. Please consider doing more NF and taking the NF journey. I'm telling you it's really worth it!
