Makes me so angry knowing it wasn’t jia’s fault but she was just used as pawn as she did to others

Gotta love a man (sarcasm, of course) who knows you are emotionally distraught over a serious medical issue with your young child and starts out holding you as your emotional anchor and the moment he learns the dog's owner is outside, he just gets up, dumps her into the air, and walks away from her to vent his anger on someone outside the palace, not just outside the room - while she almost falls over from his abrupt abandonment of her. Had Rong Pei not been standing right there, Ruyi would have fallen on the floor. This is what I mean the countless times I've called him self centered, selfish, arrogant, insensitive and impulsive. Does he really think in that very moment that was the proper thing to do and the proper timing? To, in that very moment, vent his anger when he could have ignored the culprit outside, focused on his wife and daughter, and confronted Jia afterwards, was nothing more than ego stroking. He's taking care of himself and using the situation to toss his weight around when this moment called for a loving, caring father and husband and the grandiose power play by this self proclaimed man-god could have waited rather than leaving his wife and daughter to the care and support of the servants. Real hero, this guy. Real man. (my sarcasm where this moron is concerned is eternal).

It was obvious this wasnt Jia this time. Too transparent, but id never have guessed who it really was.

I don't think it was obvious at first: she is devious enough to have paid someone to let her dog loose after the other women in the garden noticed her with her son so as to not be the first one suspected, but in this case, you're right. Jia wasn't at fault and I don't think she ever knew for certain who set her up, but she sure didn't like that someone set her up as she's set so many others up for their downfall. So many variables for this to happen and Jia's mind at that moment was on her son, jealous of the other women, jealous of the pregnant women who would give birth to healthy children while her son wasn't - she was insanely jealous and vindictive but in that moment, jealous or not, she was devoted to just being in the garden with her son. That her dog, fabric she gifted to another woman, and her prior evil deeds preceded this event surely didn't help her cause at all.

It was Yanwan who set her up! If im not mistaken theres a brief conversation with her and some of her servants abt it, thats why she even suggested they changed clothes bc her target was the prince, not the princess@@r10greyhoundsrule87

@@r10greyhoundsrule87 If you saw the other Chinese Drama that parallels this story (Different events, plot, characters) there's a certain event involving Lychee and another event involving the use of copper thread that makes it a little to obvious who has the cunning to do something like this.

Of someone coming after her with poison food or anything. Got to remember that their free time is chattering amongst themselves within their palace, doing drawings, sewing and bit of keeping the haram at peace.

Nail coverings. They represent their titles and wealth. Only one woman on record had all 10 nail covers. But I cannot remember her name. I know she was a consort

In these days, a sign of wealth was the ability to grow your nails extremely long to show that you don't have to do manual labour. So the royal ladies and the noble women had nail coverings to adorn their nails and to protect them from breaking. Apparently some wealthy men also had long nails for the same reason.
