I loved the expression on Kathy's face when she realised who and what 'Rosie' was! Absolutely priceless. I also loved the way they got 'Rosie's' feet to tap along to the music, that's so cool!!!! This was probably the greatest hard rock gig in history! 🙋‍♂🙋‍♂🙋‍♂🙋‍♂🙋‍♂🙋‍♂

Love Phil's rhythmic style but for some reason I prefer the bald guy they had in Donington '91 (Chris? I'm blanking on the name). His style is way harder and more appropriate for some of their rougher songs like Back in Black, Shoot To Thrill or Dirty Deeds

Saw AC/DC as a 17 year old in 1979 when Bon Scott was lead singer. Small venue in England with only 400 people in the audience. We KNEW that they would be massive. Still love 'em 47 years later. Us old geezers can still rock. So many young fans now - some could be my grandchildren!!!

Answering Kathy's question: everything is wireless on their equipment. I believe that wireless connections during concerts have been done by their sound engineers who runs the boards offstage. When Angus is moving, you can see a transceiver mounted on his guitar strap.

Angus Young is the lead guitarist and he helped pioneer the wireless receivers for guitars because he needed it due to how much he moves around. A difference song at this venue he goes on a 17 minute solo at the end of that runway. It's called Let There Be Rock.

AC/DC and KISS were the first big bands to go wireless back in the 1970's. The technology had been around for deades, but had always been flaky so not used much. In the 70's the problems got solved, but despite being early adopters, it did not become common amongst touring bands until the 90's. Angus wears his Ashfield High School uniform, and as part of that you often see his leather school satchel hanging on his back. I expect it is full of the electronics that allows him to move around so much and go so far. Wireless guitar was an important part of the AC/DC look as well as sound.

The song is about a large Tasmanian woman, Rosie, with whom the singer (Bon Scott) had a one-night stand at the Freeway Gardens Motel in North Melbourne after one of the gigs. She was apparently "collecting" various celebrities and was dynamite in bed :D Angus Young remembered: "Rosie said to him: 'This month I've slept with 28 famous people,' and Bon went: 'Oh yeah?!' Anyway, in the morning he said he woke up pinned against the wall, he said he opened one eye and saw her lean over to her friend and whisper: '29!'"

The song is based on a true story from way back in their early days, when the late Bon Scott and one other was brought back to Rosie's place. The band were hungry and thought if nothing else, they'd at least get a meal. Rosie pointed to Bon and said, "You're mine". As for Angus getting to the end of the stage, then it's "Let There Be Rock", one of the finest guitar solos in guitar history. Oh, and a side point about the wireless guitar. Angus has been using a wireless system since the 1970's. Check out the You Tube clip of them performing their "Fling Thing" from 1978 in my home town here in Glasgow, Scotland. It was an experimental concept back then, and Angus once started a solo, walked out the back stage door, right round the outside of the building into the street, and came back in through the front door, ending up back on stage without breaking the solo at any point.

Angus would have problems from time to time with his wireless set shorting out from all his sweat. It took a while to come up with a rig he could use and still crawl the stage and spin around. I think, (??) I remember reading that they eventually rigged the base of the guitar to hold the transmitter, so it would stay out in the open and drier. Angus' energy is what drives these shows and has always been the favorite. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn;t like ACDC. Which is a lot considering I have heard people say they hate the Beatles........their delusional, but they say it.

Whole Lotta Rosie's guitar solo is my favorite of Angus' out of all of his work. The studio recording's insane and Angus, though an incredible guitar player, always has difficulty nailing it. To me that's a testament to how tasty of a solo it is, because it's so damned difficult to play.

I've seen AC/DC several times since the '70's and I remember the first time AC/DC used the inflatable Rosie in concert, the crowd went nuts when she was inflating during the intro of the song. I did like Bon Scott's vocals better than Brian Johnson's for this song. Bon, Angus, and Malcom wrote Whole Lot Of Rosie so that may be why Bon's vocals are better for it. If you get a chance check out the version with Bon Scott on vocals, you'll see what I mean. 🙌✌️

First of all, as good as argentina was, you need the ORIGINAL song with Ronald Belford Scott as the lead singer. He died 1980.. but HE was the guy who had this experience with "Rosie"... who nailed 20 guys after 3 days. Another great story - the song "The Jack" (about STDs) was born after Scott - who had something ducked that chick, that after him turned to the drummer. She send the drummer a bill for the medical care. Now the great thing. At the next concert, the chick was again in the first row, he asked her to the stage and told her and the WHOLE audience, that HE gave her the STD :D That was Bon Scott. Brian is way to nice for such things.

The one time i was blessed enough to see this band....many years back.....towards the end of the song Rosie flew out over us in the audience.....on wires or something of course but it was cool

They are not a very technical or complicated band but there is no doubt they are the essence of rock and roll. You simply cannot stand still with any AC DC song.

I agree with the complicated part. There's something else they have though, and I personally think they would have had more if Bon had lived. Brian Johnson is one helluva vocalist and one helluva human being. Imagine the pressure this man has endured. He and Bon met back in Brian's Gordy days. Who would've known it would turn out like it did. Sorry, back to what I was getting at. Having opened for these guys, they are just a Rock and Roll Groove Machine. If you listen closely, Phil plays a straight 4/4 best, however, he also has this unique ability to swing it a bit. It's just how he's always played. Straight beat but with a slight swing to it. And everyone else is also right there. They were using different drummers for a couple years, they they could play the parts okay but they're just there was something missing it was this feel thatthe band just could not sink up quite the music sounded fine they played the songs sounded fine sounded like the record but there was something missing. And then feel they asked field if you come back and feel came back in to the rehearsal room and they just started playing and it's like it's like Phil had not missed one s the whole time the band had not missed anything they were back on track just it's just magical really only get that with certain people together like Zeppelin with Bonham you know it was just pure that was the way it supposed to be.

As the story goes.....Rosie was a large Tasmanian mountain woman who started showing up at gigs. One night she basically said to the band after a show. "Who wants have a go?". Bon being Bon stepped up to the challenge. And as he said. Never met a woman, never a met woman like you......

When I saw AC/DC perform on stage in the early 90s, the giant inflatable Rosie was much lower to the ground. At one point, Brian Johnson was leaning against her giant boob. I remember a girl in the audience right by me was amused by that.

I really wish when people react to bands that have had more than one singer would react to songs done by its original singer. I love Brian, but if its one of Bon's songs, it should be the one sung by Bon. Now that i got that outta the way, great reaction guys. R.I.P MALCOLM YOUNG!!!!

This concert was basically highly requested. We are planning on reacting to Bon Scott's voice in the future

@@KathyLuluandDonna I hope you don't think I was specifically throwing hate at you guys, cuz I wasn't. Imo it really takes away from the song. I love all of Brian's songs he's done since he joined AC/DC, but his singing style just doesn't work with Bon's songs. Still, awesome reaction, especially when she found out what tge song was really about!!🤣
