I think what needs to be said is that money talks. We simply do not have the kind of funds to provide strong pulls. Yes, we are a big club in the championship and yes we offer great progression for youth players. On a psotive, the club has done a great job achieving financial stability. Life should be easier for the club moving forward now, especially if we can survive relegation.

Was anybody really questioning the business done within the timeframe it happened in? I think given the circumstances the club has a had a great window, brought in some exciting new players on long term contracts.

I’ll never shed a tear for anyone who WANTS to leave the club by their own free will the only regret is that it comes at the point they are at a crossroads with regard to their contract situation and that they weren’t sorted out sooner but given the league status at the time and the room for a downturn in results you can understand that to,football is a game of risk vs reward at the end of the day and not just on the playing field,great interview and you can tell Bettis has the club at heart

Steve and the prince has done wonders for my club im forever grateful, all i wish now is he finds us a buyer who will take us to the next level. To see my club competitive in the premier and in Europe would be a dream

I personally think we did good business on ndiaye and berge (in last year of contract) went and got hamer on 4 year deal (upgrade on berge) and archer who will be leading scorer and more younger players on long contracts so yes very good business for the club

Lets be honest the prince has done a good job with us. All he needs is to find a rich owner to take us foward. Gambled in some situations but its paid off. Other owners at other clubs in similar situations have completly shafted them for their own benefit. He has always been hosnest and done whats best for the club even if it looked like a bad move. We have had a good transfer window with some good talent coming in, arguably better than what has left, despite players sucker punching us on contracts. Yes the line up against palace was poor but who did you expect hecky to pick? Agree with the pre season being our fist few games of prem which is not ideal but we can only improve and looking at it i think we are better than at least 4 teams. Just hope this injury plague and curse pisses off.

I actually like Bettis. Seems intelligent, business savvy and will answer questions when posed. Never forget he’s the spokesperson for the ownership. We aren’t a big money club, we took a risk by keeping players for a second season in the champ. Stay up, keep the same transfer policy and we can sustain ourself as a decent PL club.

Totally get that it’s hard to manage a transfer window and we can’t control everything, but we were certainly ill prepared for the start of the season. Of that there is no doubt, just have to look at the team sheet

I do like Steve Bettis, and he appears to have a "speak as you see" attitude. I've met him a couple of times, and comes over very well. However, we appear to have the poorest Arab as chairman in the world. Did we leave offering Illiman offer one year too late ? One that his representatives couldn't refuse. Without promotion last season, we would have been well and truly stuffed financially by now. However, some great window signings, and now looking forward to the rest of the season.

Come on he and Prince have made big mistakes when were in Prem last time when Wilder needed recruitment signings in January to try and stay up and we didn't get anybody and trying to get players at very last minute for bargains and backfired the rest is history and even Prince in a interview even admit to try to get players at the last minute. Furthermore, how is it you can't pay a bill for training ground heating . We were in dire straight, bills were being paid . If it weren't for the downpayment of the Dozy Mmobiosi and getting promoted, we would have been f...ked! Great interview asked him questions that we were thinking!!!😮

Tbf if Ndiaye wanted to go you can’t keep him bc he won’t be bothered anymore or as much as before, berge for hamer was a really good piece of business but the rumours on why berge left wasn’t right

Timing is never ideal but we brought Hamer and archer in aswell as all the others we had a solid window and can now move forward and aim for prem league survival

But the issue is, why did we put ourslves in a position where so many players were on the last year of their deal? You let their value decrease by them only having 12 months left. Had we not been so poorly run, we could have got contracts sorted last season but we ended up with no money and a transfer embargo.

So many comments ignoring that you can’t FORCE a player to sign the contract. The only other choice was to seek them earlier and risk not getting promotion.

The Iliman saga was just a shame, although agreeing everything verbally then jumping ship last minute has potentially ruined his reputation at the lane. absolutely no love lost for Sander he was never really a blade and replacing him with Hamer was HUGE, can’t wait for Bramall lane all singing “Sander, what’s the score?” When we hammer Burnley 🤣 Stephen is a good talker I’ll give him that, but for him to say we weren’t in a bad position against palace is just a complete falsity and he knows it, call a spade a spade fella.

Contradicting statements about players getting to the last year of their contract. The owner said he likes players getting into the last year of their contracts becaue he believes it is a motivator, he said this is what has been seen in american sports. Bettis saying we do try to stop people getting into the last year of the deal. Given how many of the team are in the last 12 months it would suggest betties is full of guff.

Not a problem in Illi going maybe abit down but Sander the snake that he is every transfer window asking his agent find me a move 👎 and us getting Gus in is 100% better and i think the Prince should Prioritise which football club he wants to be successful in United World and sell off the rest as United are the biggest and best club he owns ⚔️

Great questions but so many excuses for the mess we found ourselves in at the start of the season. I'm a big supporter of hecky and his staff but there was NO EXCUSE FOR THAT STARTING LINEUP AGAINST PALACE PERIOD. We've made some great signings in Hamer Souza and Archer and some good young talent in Slimane Trusty and Traore and I believe with Mcatee we'll stay up at the end of the season 🤞🙏 C'MON YOU BLADES 👏 💪 👏
