On a rare snowy day here in Western Washington, my 1948 Dodge Power Wagon ran out of gas in the middle of the driveway, so the only reasonable solution was to drive my Shelby Cobra 427 S/C replica to the gas station in the snow.

this is the coolest thing i've ever seen, a man that not afraid to drive his classic car. i can just imagine all the other cobra owners watching this with their b-hole all puckered up.

I do like a little 302 and 351. Have 1 of each as well as my cummins.

The fact you took a 427 Cobra out in the snow, tells you all you need to know about cobras ! Sounds great.

I want to see more snow driving. I have been contemplating moving to a snowy place and starting a snowplow business on the side, and I think a FFR replica might just be the way to go!👍

Ok I would pay big money to see a snow plow on the front of a Factory Five… haha. We really don’t get a lot of snow here actually, so I took advantage of it while I could. For my next trick, I might have to find some dirt.

Yup I know that feeling…power induced tail wag! Just drive like you have an egg underneath the loud pedal! Good to see you made the round trip intact! My V8 Austin Healey was dangerously tail happy in the wet and my Sunbeam Tiger’s 289 has the same personality… dreaming of dry pavement 😎

Yes, as I often tell people, at least half of the Cobra’s throttle travel is extra… maybe more like 2/3 actually. Generally the Cobra stays in on anything but the nicest of days, which are rare around here. But, you know… gotta live a little while you can. A V8 Austin Healey sounds nuts! This is my first car of this type. I’ve had two MGB GTs but both were stock B motors and neither was ever road worthy. I am very into the small British cars and hope to play with more when possible.

@@DeadDodgeGarage I was a young teen when a friend gave me a ride in his MGB and I loved the feeling. A year later I bought a ‘64 B which was replaced by a ‘66 Austin Healey (those curves were seductive :) it was killed by a collision with a police car (their fault). I then graduated to my 327 ‘vette engine Healey which never lost a race. Weirdly, two years later, it was killed in another police induced collision which broke my heart! Years later I picked up a Triumph Spitfire which helped rekindle the fascination with little British sports cars. My wife discovered how much fun it was to drive and informed me “Bill I hope you know that’s MY car”, I got promoted to head mechanic. While playing with Turbo Supras, I picked up the Sunbeam in Alger, Washington while I was living in Vancouver and I have been modifying it since. And now I have inherited my Dad’s 1939 Jaguar SS100 which kind of goes back to how the whole Brit sports car thing started.
