These bag meals are ww friendly and shelf stable. Great for neighbors, seniors, college kids, grieving families and the like. Let me know if you make this type of meal and what you put in your bags.

Thank you Debbie! I'm always looking for ideas to keep on hand for when I can't get to the store and just want to cook out of the pantry.

I enjoyed watching this. There are numerous times I look at a full pantry and say "What can I make out of this." This is the solution! Thank you

This is such a great idea, especially now that so many families and seniors are experiencing food insecurity.

That is so true. You could give someone a bag meal and they would have a full meal for four people.

I love these kinds of meals! Thank you so much for sharing. I have another meal I'll share with you that is similiar to your taco soup. 1 large can chicken with juice, 1 can green enchilada sauce, 1 can black beans ( or beans of choice, I have used them all.) 1 can drained corn or hominy, 1 cup chicken broth (throw in 1 bouillion cube in bag and you can add the one cup water). Wonderful with cornbread.

I like to have a few shelf stable meals ready for days I just can’t think of what to cook. As I was organizing them yesterday, it occurred to me that these would be great to take to neighbors, grieving families, send home with the kids, college kids, and so many more uses. Soooo I made a video showing how to put a few of those meals together. Taco Soup Canned Chicken breast Taco seasoning Black beans (drain and rinse) Dehydrated onion Refried beans Rotel Petit tomatoes Mix and heat. 0 point per serving Chicken gravy over potatoes Canned chicken breast Cream of chicken soup Chicken gravy mix Instant potatoes ½ c serving Make potatoes Heat vegetable Stir other ingredients in a pan and heat through. Serve chicken gravy over potatoes, serve vegetable on the side. 4 points per serving Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice 1 can mixed veggies (drained) Canned chicken breast 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1 t. garlic ¼ c soy sauce ½ c. pine apple chunks 2 c. cooked rice Make rice ahead and let cool if possible In a large pan or wok, mix and heat everything together, starting with the rice, then the egg, then everything else. Serve with soy sauce or sweet chili sauce 4-6 points per serving depending on if using sweet chili sauce. Tomato soup and saltines Canned tomato soup Shelf stable almond milk Sleeve of saltine crackers Make soup with the almond milk. Each can makes two servings. Serve 6 saltines with each serving. 5 points per serving Bean and Cheese Tostadas Refried beans or mashed pinto beans Corn tostada shells Dehydrated cheese The night before refresh the cheese in the fridge. Heat the beans and spread on the tostadas. Top with cheese that you refreshed the night before. 6 Points for two tostadas. Chicken Enchilada Casserole *Canned chicken breast *Cream of chicken soup *Greek yogurt (if available) *2/3 c. Almond milk (shelf stable) 6 corn tortillas 1 c. shredded cheese (dehydrated and refreshed) *Canned green chilies *Garlic, onion, and salt and pepper Mix *’d ingredients. Layer tortillas, mix, cheese, repeat. End with cheese. Bake at 350 20 minutes or until warmed through. 5 points per serving Fiesta Chicken Canned chicken breast Fiesta seasoning (taco seasoning, etc.) 1 can corn, drained 1 can rotel 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained. Mix in a pan and heat through. Serve on a tortilla with cheese. Points vary according to which tortilla and cheese you use. Otherwise, its zero points I did not make all of these in the video, but these are all of the ones i have put together so far. Tuna Fritters or Salmon Canned tuna Dehydrated onion Dehydrated peppers Powdered eggs equal to 2 eggs 2 T. flour (2 pts.) Paprika ½ t. baking powder Mix together and spoon onto hot sprayed pan. Fry until brown. Makes 3 fritters per can of tuna. Approx. 1 points each. Pinto bean or refried bean fritters. 1-1/2 c. mashed pinto or refried beans 1 egg made from powdered egg Water for consistency Dehydrated onion Dehydrated peppers ½ can corn if desired Mix together. Drop by spoonful’s onto sprayed hot pan. Cook until nicely browned on both sides. Drain on a rack to retain crispness. Yogurt and shredded cheese may be used for toppings if desired. 0 points per serving.

No I have not done those calculations. I’m wondering if using crushed pork rinds would make the points less. I’ll have to investigate. I’ll see what I can come up with for more ww friendly meals. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

You are so right. My mom eats with us and cannot handle corn so we don’t get to have it very often. Before we moved here i put corn in it and it was really good.

😊 For anyone who can't chew or digest corn try Hominy. It gives a corn like taste and texture but it it much easier to digest.
