ABOUT ME
I’m 31 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 600 breeding ewes.
I shore over 15,000 sheep this season in UK and I also travel to Norway for shearing in March and September. (Covid messed it up this year)
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on KZfaq and decided I could have a go and now here we are!

Good gracious, Lizzie is running AND carrying wee Jock IN HIS CAR SEAT!! Lord have mercy, I could have NEVER done that when my son was the same age. It seemed that car seat was built incredibly heavy, just to keep anyone from lugging it around, even without a baby in it.

I like the farm part, particularly when Lizzie is out doing you ! Jock is such an angel. I picture Lizzie wrestling sheep to practice for the future, wrestling Jock ! If the general stuff doesn’t get done the special things can’t be done.

sheep are so cute, but never underestimate how strong and wiley they can be. Lizzie did so amazing grabbing those big rams. My Romneys used to take me for a ride, run and sometimes a drag...lol. Props Lizzie!

I definitely love seeing the day to day stuff. I grew up on a sheep farm in the hills of West Virginia and the scenery in this video reminds me of the old farm. We raised mostly Suffolk and worked Aussie dogs.

Seeing Lizzy literally running with that baby is just a prime example of this familys work ethics together. That whole island really understands what community is, and operates the way all of us should act towards one another; helping each other. Damn Lizzy, you can come to Texas and wrestle cows any day. You must have killer biceps to tote Jock in his carry seat (its been 24 years, that's what we used to call those things) all over that field. I am convinced sheep and cows both lack intelligence when you are trying to herd them. They get so easily spooked! Ya'll have a great week, watching your videos makes my day.

I'd recommend some carpet for your ramps, will stop the sheep slipping and make loading so much easier. Something I picked up from an old timer👌

I REALLY DID ENJOY THIS! Thanks Cammy! Jock is getting to be such a big fella! This will sound silly but I love the colors you spray on the ewes! Pastel colors make it feel like they’re celebrating and not being marked to cull. Told ya it was silly.

Here's me -smiling all over my face watching the dogs work the sheepies...I used to have a lovely Australian Shepherd x border collie (mac) who not only wouldn't herd my sheep, he was carefully afraid of them and crouched very still while he kept a respectable distance from them! He was a great companion though and could jump after a ball like a Russian Acrobat! Thanks for the "regular farm chore" videos - they do make me smile
