Sheriff of Nottingham are merchants attempting to make a quick profit by selling their goods in the bustling city. However, watch out for the Sheriff is on watch for illegal goods you might be smuggling in. Sheriff of Nottingham plays 3 to 5 players in around 60 minutes.

The one thing they didn't mention here, nor happened in the Tabletop episode, is that during the inspection phase you can bribe the sheriff to inspect another merchants bag. It's great for the sheriff because if the merchant is lying you get the penalty payment and the bribe. If he's telling the truth, the bribe can go towards the penalty the sheriff has to pay.

My kids LOVE this game. They really enjoy that this is the one time they are allowed to fib. The youngest seems a little too good at it...

Great review as always. I'd add that the final point tally at the end is somewhat awkward (and can be anticlimactic), after such a social game. It's still fun, though.

I was wondering what your thoughts were on people saying that most of the games you review have already been done by others. Does this concern you? I think your reviews are very well done and the explanations are perfect. I just wish there were more of them! :D

Steve Pruneau We review what our patrons and what we want to review. Since it's our time and the patrons funds, the only people who have to be satisfied are those two parties.

Great review of an awesome fun game. IMO...it's much better with more players. It also feels like it should have been released to play up to 6 players!

Love this game and I 100% agree with Kaja. I love bluffing games and I've intro this game to about 20 people. Not everyone will like this game. Kaja is dead on about being cautious who you spring this game on. If your group already plays things like Werewolf, Coup, Avalon/Resistance its a great add. If they don't like those games skip it.

What I don't understand about this game is that if players only start with a total of 50 gold (1x20 5x5 1x1) why are there so many extra coins (even after 5 players have been given their starting amount) and especially the single 50 gold coins. As far as I can see, these coins worth 50 gold each will never get used. Am I missing something?

Tetsuo2k Don't believe so. It's an older game, so unless our patron's request it enough we wouldn't.

I think the woman on the right is the most officious, and staid, speaker I've seen outside of the lady living in Buckingham Palace. Wonder if they're related? :D

StarlitCitadel Funny follow up. Starlit might end up doing the fulfillment on The King's Armory in Canada! Just found out from our fulfillment team. : P That would be interesting. : )
