Sherline Mill Package Accessories

This turned out to sound like a marketing video... I do not however work for Sherline, sell these tools, or otherwise profit from somebody purchasing these. My intention is to give somebody completely unfamiliar with milling what all these little things and pieces do without going into extreme detail.

I recently bought a Sherline CNC-ready package (mill and lathe) and am finding your videos extremely useful. Thanks for doing these. I have zero prior experience in machining and appreciate your taking the time to explain things in detail. I'm also looking forward to when you start covering topics in CNC -- that's where I want to go eventually.

+Paul Devey I do hope to keep making videos, was able to do the flurry of videos before as I was between jobs but now on an extremely busy contract for awhile. Plus summertime I like to get outside when I can, so videos will be a bit slower until fall/winter time most likely. Have several I want to get back to working on though, will try to not leave you hanging.

Hello! I have a question regading your Sherline 2000 vs 5000 series Mill choice. I've heard many complaints about reduced rigidity of 2000 Mill as compared to 5000 series. Owners of both say 2000 Mill flexes considerably and the major flex point is the connection of the column to the base. One reviewer identified the problem being in the design flaw of connecting the Z column cylinder to the X-Y base via 2 small screws. Besides he noted that Sherline removed material from the base at that locationcompared to 5000 series Mills. Do you find your 2000 lacking in rigidity?
