Love my Sherline Mill and Lathe for clock / watch work!

I have a Sherline mill, and recently converted it to CNC. THESE THINGS ARE NOT TOYS, they are precision machines that happen to be very small. A skilled machinist will find Sherline machines quite satisfactory for hobby or small prototyping uses. The person wishing to learn the skills of a prototype machinist the old fashioned way, hands on and at home, or to practice techniques being acquired in a formal academic setting, will find these products cost effective and more than up to the task. There are other manufacturers making small machines, but I tend to shy away from off-shore products, the origin of many of them. Sherline machines are made entirely in the USA, with consistent accuracy and quality, and have been for decades. I thought it started in Australia in 1972 before moving to the US. www.sherline.com/about/sherline-history/ confirms that.

Anybody think I g about sherline products will get exactly what they pay for . I have not one regret . And no desire to try anyone else , no matter the price. Theodore Martin
