Buddy Love wasn’t a villain but more so necessary evil. He was simply teaching Sherman to be confident and that “no matter what you got to strut” he just took it too far for trying to take over Sherman’s life

5:30 That to me is the biggest lesson of them all. For alot of guys including me, accepting that you're big. Indeed you can lose weight, gain muscle, being healthy, but no matter what you do, you will be big. Be proud of it and hopefully God willing you'll find someone who will love you for it

Yeah, no. Love yourself no matter what. "No matter what you'll be big" is an excuse. Obesity like that is unhealthy and deadly. Eat healthy, exercise, and be well rested.

I wish you the same my friend. I hate it when my dad complains about my weight when I don’t need to be skinny when I can just learn to accept myself as who I am while taking care of my weight. You don’t need to lose weight to attract people when you can just learn to be happy with yourself and not care what others think of you.

This is very much a "got what you wanted, lost what you had" story of consequences. Buddy was what happened when you removed the worst of Sherman, but also what happens when you removed the best as well. Buddy didnt have Sherman's size, his shyness, his insecurities, but he also didn't have his heart, his gentleness, or his humility. What's great about the Nutty Professor is how well it takes the concept of Jekyll and Hyde and turns it into a comedy, but what makes the remake so great is that it almost feels like it's own version, especially with how it handles the characters of Sherman and Buddy, you like both of them, but are also torn about them too.

The entire audience is silly not to understand what was happening during the obvious voice and body changes back and forth between buddy and the professor. They were confused until Sherman was 100% back.

This scene is creepy seeing this now as an adult. As a kid, it never occurred to me that Buddy and Sherman were 2 separate identities and one of them wanted to kill the other to take control of the body permanently. Kind of disturbing when you think about it.

One little caveat to "loving who you are", is to treat your body with the respect it deserves. A bad habit or two is fine, but there are limits before you gotta put in the effort to get back on the right track. If thay means shaving off 100 pounds so you don't get winded climbing up a set of stairs, then that's what you gotta do. Settling into a rut, and self love are two very distinct differences that often get misconstrued.

I think we all have a Buddy Love in us, we all wish to be the best version of ourselves. If we wish to weigh a little less, have a little more confidence, or we wish to be better looking. We have to accept ourselves for who we are and love ourselves.

Buddy is a part of Sherman. Always has been. The fact that Sherman created him means he still lives in Sherman. Which is where the second movie comes in. Because he still exists within Sherman. To a point where he tries to control Sherman again
