Walk around Sherwood Forest. Home owned by John Tyler from 1842 to 1862 that remains in the Tyler family hands today.

Mr Chris… this tiny aspect of the portico roof …has immense meaning for me because water is drained…but how, I’m intrigued!

Chris…VA…You are superb! Thoroughly enjoy yore tid-bits of history! One interesting structure… the Fences… the timber placed… …Here in Edgewater, MD…London Town Historical Home and Gardens, has the same jig-jag split or rail fencing… I personally would like to understand this better… thank you!

I'm a retired landscape contractor and worked out there for a few years. Maybe I fast forwarded through this, but the big tree in the...what I call the back, even though it's facing the river (about a mile away), is a Ginkgo biloba tree. The walk you took, went by it, next to the house. It's one of the oldest Ginkgo trees in the U.S.

Wife and I are sitting here enjoying your visit..she is a tour guide at Berkeley, says you’re doing a great job with the history! We keep the black cat that bit you at Berkeley last time you visited..we get a chuckle about that. She’s trying to get permission to have you come and film inside Berkeley…

I find this fascinating. The grounds are beautiful. We visited Berkeley Plantation several years ago and didn't make it to Sherwood Forest but now thanks to you I get to see it.

There is lot's of Tyler's, my Great Grandmother was a Tyler. I got to visit the Mansion and actually got the family tour. I did have to give proof of lineage. He was the first to have campaign slogan's, the first to have Hail to the Chief played for, and to be the first Vice President to become President. He also fought to have Excutive powers, because Congress did not want to give him any. He had alot of first's.

I wonder if the Lane Company back then is the same Lane Furniture company today? 🤔

The house was originally built for the Minge family in the 1700s, my ancestors, and then sold to President Tyler in 1842.

What were your impressions of the house tour? Honestly, I'd be interested in seeing it. But $35 for a house tour of a pretty "unpopular" president seems a bit steep. I'd spend that on mt Vernon or Monticello, but probably not this one.

I thought the house and tour were great. But I could understand if somebody didn’t want to pay $35 to take it.

Were the Tyler’s wealthy aside from his short lived presidency because how could they afford this, even the original house, in those days? I saw another video with still photographs of the inside and the furnishings are exquisite.

President Tyler was descended and related to many early colonial families (wealth).

Just curious as to why you do so many hand motions? It’s really distracting and I turned the video off! Work on it dude you got this but just chill man 😂 like we don’t needyou to point behind you to the house we see…. Come on man😅 As a business owner my self I get it but just be yourself don’t fake it you’ll go a lot further!
