He's maybe looking at his physical best right now in spite of not being quite there with regard to performance. So do you know what he eats?

It definitely had all of the above. I already had respect for weightlifters. But this session causes that respect to increase. I can't believe that I didn't begin to be interested in this sport until late 2022.

Juan. Most definitely but because China has more than 3 men that are qualified in their respective weight classes he is not guaranteed to be selected by his country. I think he will be, but it depends on how a couple of his countrymen perform in the 89 category.

Loftily I think that’s a good assumption. Even if he can’t beat Rizki I see Shi getting at least silver. He will stomp Wichuma #3 ranked. I don’t see either Lee Dayin or Tian Tao beating Nassar in Paris and not even assured of silver with too many guys able to do 385-390.

To me he looked literally shell shocked after the first 206 miss. I can see no viable explanation why he came out after barely a minute for the last attempt. It was amazing he even cleaned it.

It's 3 rules. 1. You only qualify if you are top 10 in a category. 2. You only qualify if you are the strongest lifter of your own country in one category (so if 2 lifters from the same country are both top 10 in the same category, only the stronger one qualifies). 3. Each country cannot qualify more than 3 men and 3 women, so if a country has 4 male lifters in 4 different categories all rank in the top 10 in their own categories respectively, the country has to choose 1 man to drop so that they stay within the 3 men 3 women rule.

You’re forgetting Li Fabin. If any of the Chinese is a lock for gold it is him.

I believe Ningbo, refers to the Chinese National Weightlifting champs this year. Not an international comp. People like him, Lu Delin, and even Yang Zhe are turning up since it should be easy for them to win and they get money for winning it.

I wonder if he split jerk there would be less pain in his back. He always drops into a full squat in his jerk and the weight seems to come down on him with great force.

I love their passion and knowledge but I wish they would do some commentary training, they talk over each other all the time. Or at the very least decide which one of them does the play-by-play and which one is the colour commentator and stick to those roles
