I love this. For all of the people who get up upset, the dog isn't afraid of you after a hard correction. That hard correction is important for living in the real world when you don't know if a random person - especially a child - is going to run by doing exactly what you (as the decoy) were doing. Those hard consequences also make the dog safer and more reliable.

@@LadyGeckoFoot I agree - Never ever underestimate a GSD's capacity for sneaky. They are borderline magicians / illusionists. I have one that when he was younger would produce items out of thin air & make them disappear just as quick.

It's awesome watching a working dog in all his primal intensity. But let's be honest people how many of us could handle a dog like this? Think before you commit to getting a working dog.

So, I was watching Gage in the "Raw coaching session" vid a couple of weeks ago, thinking "Man, I'd really like to see a breeding from Gage". I almost commented that, but refrained because I am aware of how you feel about it. And now here we are 😅 Nice New Year's Eve reveal 🎉

But how do you know that Gage is the father when you didn't know how/when it happened? I would love to see more of those puppies as Gage is the dog of you I enjoy seeing the most. Gage is just the coolest GSD I have ever seen in my opinion.

I have a illegitimate Shepinois from someone’s unplanned litter and love him. He seems be getting the size and bone of the GSD, but body shape and color of the Mal. Also not quite as intense as a regular Mal. He really doesnt get overly stimulated or stressed either and likes people. I just hope he avoids the health issues of the GSDs. My old GSD had everything. 😢

@Shield K9 Dog training Do you still breed Presa Canarios litters? I've had Presas for 15 years but am currently in between dogs. Been watching a couple of your older videos with the puppy Wilson. He is impressive and since I'm looking for my next dog. I figured why not start my search with you.

I called about four years ago and they had just stopped breeding Presas. They said they couldn't get the working consistency they wanted. Believe Haz a video discussing it a few years ago.

Maybe some kind person will advise..my first vet for my German Shepherd purebred West German show line (Argentina champ sire, Hungarian/Russian dam w great heritage too)vet turned out to be a literal psycho, (wanted to neuter at 4-5 months) and either never examined my dog, or didn’t tell me, 2nd great vet immediately says “and you know about the undescended testicle..” to which I replied..”what??” So, now he’s 28-29 weeks, we are doing scent work, beginner bite work, etc. Vet’s office says “we recommend sterilizing, we will “try” to find the retained one.” Vet says they can do an (expensive) ultrasound before to try to find it, but want to remove both. I don’t understand why, if I will never breed the dog, do my best to police him to make sure, why remove a healthy testicle and “try” to find the problem one? How would I ever know if they actually found the problem one? If I had done more research, and realized I had enough mobility to do so, (disabled due to neck implanted sets of hardware and pain) I would have gone full working line, I may still do so in future, but..I want to do the best for my boy..I’m tempted to just say I’m not going to do anything. He might not even have the second testicle, or ever develop a problem..

No neuter until at least 2 yo!!!! And even then, I would seriously consider keeping him intact. Remember vets are conditioned in school to spay/neuter ASAP to “prevent overpopulation”. There are is documented research from several sources that shows the health benefits as well as the bad things that can happen from early S/N. I had 2 wonderful Rotties I kept intact until around 6. My friend has had multiple intact males ( as many as 5 at once) and never had issues with behavior or unplanned pregnancy. Some of the Rottie breeders I know will keep them intact until 7-8, then s/n and do a dental. Avoids potential anesthesia issues with age. The other thing you can do is look for a vet that does a vasectomy. Yep just like humans. Gets to keep the hormones but cannot create puppies. Good luck!!!
@johncspine27877 ай бұрын
Right..I hadn’t planned on neutering at all. Too many ppl think it solves behavior problems, but that’s a training issue. Plus, there is some evidence that neutering causes some other increased risks besides the commonly known ones from neutering too early..sigh..seems like life always offers up difficulties no matter how simple your plans might’ve been..get a great dog, train him to do stuff he loves and is good at, give him a great life..@@1packatak

You can try taking them to indoor pat friendly areas, ie: Pet stores - Vet office - Home Depot or other homegood stores are great - indoor dog parks(if you are very careful) socializing doesn’t Have to be Playing with dogs necessarily. Just exposure to lots of different kinds of sounds people smells and sights
