Today we take a look back at our visit to Shigeki Tanakas shop from our Japan trip in April!
Showing us around his shop, chatting knives, giving us a forging demo, and letting us smash away with his spring hammer! We had a blast seeing behind the scenes and Tanaka-san was super friendly. Stay tuned for more videos on our Japan trip coming soon!

That's so amazing that you were able to go there to visit Tanaka san, and to see so much how blacksmithing looks like up close. It's a dream of mine to go to Japan and see some of my favourite blacksmiths at work

Hahaha! Man, those hammers are wayyyy heavier than you might think. My forearm was on fire within a few strikes.

I believe those are just earplugs, so he listens to the sweet sound of the hammer

great question, Ippudo - Ginza was our favourite in Tokyo. Ramen Hiiragi was our favourite in Nagasaki. The ramen at the shop in the Tokyo airport is surprisingly good as well.

@@SharpKnifeShop at Narita airport too. Great Ramen restaurant there. Have been 10 times in Japan and going there in August again. Will go to a knive shop for sure 😃

Heccin right we did! I have one of his kamisoris and its sweet! We don't carry them...YET, but I can't recommend them enough!
