7medium is a good rod but not a great rod. If you are new to fishing then it a good choice. I prefer the 6”10 med Lt cuz I like more flimsy rod but the 7med does hook up better.

Always thought the same about the hook keepers as well but haven’t actually took them on and off to compare. But it would make sense, the rubber ring kinda acts as a dampener. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thank you for a great review. I just ordered this today when I got the email that they were back in stock - didn't even make time to consider other items in the order -- I've lost at that game before...when the maxscent rage went on after a pro smallie tournament won with the flatworm!! Anyway, u spent like 25% of your video explaining why u thought a hook holder diminished sensitivity....o.k.??? , but didn't comment at all about how those micro guides might affect the many of us who now fish braid to leader, with some serious hassle with those connection knots and micro guides. Also, you sparked my interest when you mentioned how u wished the warranty was better, but I never heard you mention what that "not so great" warranty was? I guess I'll find out if I have a problem, as my rod is probably going to be packed in a day or so!! Whatever it is, it is. I try not to wreck my stuff! Thanx again!

I cut hook keepers off most of my rods. I normally hold a baitcast rod above the reel depending on what lures I'm fishing. I want the line running over my finger if it's a bait I need to feel like soft plastics and jigs. Those hook keepers get in my way. I wish they'd put them closer to the rod butt

With the micro guides would I have any problem with a braid to leader knot? Good vid btw!

Gotta say I'm super skeptical of your Fuji theory. It sort of sounds logical on paper but I've ran them with and without and I don't think there's any difference.

I’d love to get one of these. Especially the model in your vid. Sadly, the hook keeper IS an issue for me(rod transport reasons).I have some new steeds and nrx+ rods and not having proprietary hook keepers is a real drag . Although the nrx has them, but they are behind the real seat. Can you tell us if they are over or underrated as far as “actions go”? Or are they right on the money? Do you know how much the rod weighs?

I completely disagree about the hook keeper. If you really want to get into that then the reel itself plays a role and thats proven.

No need for warranty if you take care of your rods. Been a fisherman for over 25 years. Never broke a rod.

Great video chewy. I had the opportunity to buy one but chose to get the7ft lite plus and love it for small jerkbaits and 1/4 or lighter weights with 3” swimbaits. I have it paired with a 2500 Stradic ci4. I put a Fuji hook keeper on it is still sensitive to me. I’ll have to try it on the butt to see if it makes a difference. Keep doing the videos and I’ll keep watching. Tight lines.
