I always found the "Bugaboo's gonna die!" excuse of Jimenez just to fuse with him bad since I had 20/20 revival beads with me, could have just gifted Jimenez a bunch of em lmao

He is not nearly as frustrating as in the original game. In the original game it wouldn't stop to heal himself.

Pure Blue, Sunset Melody and Rain Strike made this fight quite vexing in the original.

Yeah, this guy was easily my most frustrating boss in the original, definitely beyond ouroboros or mem aleph. Maybe I didn't have a great team - it was a long time ago - but I seem to recall my "strategy" being "pray that he doesn't one-shot my main character and also doesn't heal himself back to full for long enough so that I can kill him".

Lesson learned, fleeting rain was so annoying and pure blue was painful. Then you realize he doesn't have dekaja so I used a Kurama Tengu (nulls gun) with sukukaja and tarukaja, grinded spriggans to get the armor to resist gun and he died in a couple of turns

i don't know how i feel about this dub. in the original, i imagined that jack would sound much more composed than here. all the voices seem too hammy in general. which is why i love anime, but it doesn't really fit the tone of strange journey.

His Rain Strike got nerfed by being replaced with Airstrike, meaning he no longer can just threaten a kill on MC. He also didn't heal because Pure Blue only really gets used when he is debuffed and he gets lower on HP

It's kind of hard to not see him in a sympathetic light. He was hired to do a job, and only asked that you not interfere. Your crewmate Jiminez tore apart his operation and killed part of his crew. I don't blame him for being just a tab bit pissed at you. Also, isn't Bomb Status supposed to make the target explode if they are attacked?

Yeah, instant kill if HIT by fire skills, but not if you have Null/absorb fire.

I think it's supposed to be any hit but it's also dependent on chance (at least in the original) though still very likely. However it won't explode if you defend.

Ashema Bahumat I mean, that is fine and all, but they made this game a spinoff for a reason. I feel like the music in this game fits this particular game, but yeah, I think it would have been a strange fit in something like nocturne as well.

The game have an orchestral ost to fit with the whole army theme, it bring to mind a military march, or a play about an epic. Fitting, since we're basically a trained professional soldier waging a war against invaders to protect our homeland instead of a civilian/survivor trying to survive in an apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic cyberpunk-lite world.
