Really happy I stumbled upon this review. I'm a really big fan of Shinola watches and made my first "big" purchases on the Lake Superior Monster Auto and have been itching to add another Shinola to my collection. Considering this even though it's quartz, but intrigued that it's Shinola's own movement.

I really like these big Shinolas. They look great and easy to read, not to mention their top-notch customer service. I have 3 of them, but the one's I really like are out of my comfort-price range.

Thanks to you, Detroit Spartan, and Clayton I definitely want to add a Shinola to my collection. Plus some of my favorite watch friends live or are from Michigan.

The 45mm auto fits perfect, they wear smaller then you would think.

I like it. Not sure if I'd buy one unless I could get it for under $300, but I like the look and with a nearly 8" wrist I tend to gravitate towards 44mm and up.

I'm not part of the luxury watch club yet. I would love to get my foot in door with a nice Shinola watch. I will check out the Shinola outlet store at Great Lakes Crossing. Great video thanks again for the nice throughout review

It is a beautiful piece truly great materials and I love the strap for one for my Apple Watch but the strap so good I want to buy the Chrono in the gold color way

Shinola was a shoe polish company back in the first half of the 20th century wasn't it? Ive seen antique cans of it. The caseback looks like a can lid.

I wear their 47mm and they are meant for bigger wrists. They don't look big on the wrist for most people.

Very pocket watchish. Nice but too big for me. Just checked. Remove four screws at lugs and case splits to open.

Love that watch Rob, reminds me of the clocks on school walls. Goes well with many of their 24mm quick release straps! Just got my Buckeyes Detrola, a watch I thought I would never see. Enjoy!

Wear what you like and ignore the pretentious watch snobs and Shinola haters. I have the Canfield 43mm and love it! Some of us guys need a bigger face because we have bigger wrists. If the size scares you, there’s plenty of girls watches to choose from.

I thought the price was gonna be ridiculous, like $3000 if it was automatic and $1500 for the quartz. For $250-$500 it seems like great value.

Well this one is free for me to borrow from a friend, but retail is more then most want to spend in my chats. You can buy these used for cheap no doubt.

@@mauricioposada4485 I typically don’t view watches in that way. “What you get for the money”. I tend to look at watches (for buying) does it speak to me. Of course most of what I have is not rubbish, value can be placed at many levels. If you compare things (even to money) then the joy is sucked out of it.

Everyone I met and chatted with seemed happy. Couple I talked to both husband and wife work for. Now keep in mind the company is way bigger then just the watches. I have not talked to anyone that does assembly.

Not sure what they make, I hear it’s over $15 per hour. They are more of an assembly line less of a watchmaker FYI.
