In this video we share our experience on Vietnam’s overnight sleeper train from Ninh Binh to Da Nang to get to Hoi An. This was our first time taking an overnight train and we had a shocking experience. We booked the first class cabin ticket with two bunk beds for 4 travellers. The journey from Ninh Binh to Da Nang took 14 hours and we had a few surprises along the way.

Yeah, cockroaches are a given in warm, tropical climes where there's no cold to kill 'em ("Adventures of A+K" also saw a cockroach). On trains where people eat in their rooms, etc., it's an all-you-can-eat-buffet for roaches. Many people want to ride the trains anyway for the experience, though. It probably doesn't hurt to bring your own travel pillow cases and sheets, though. :)

There is an app for Vietnam rail. It has a seat map so you can see which seats/beds are occupied at which stage of the journey (station) you are on. Probably scammed because if in the event (unlikely but possible) that all sleeper berths are sold by the next station, where do you imagine those guards would allocate?

You should have filmed them and asked for a receipt. That'll keep 'em more honest if it was a scam.

They have to file a complaint through their embassy and hire local lawyers to take them to court. In my opinion you are looking to pay very very cheap and claim first class. Better go home and continue enjoying your garden and watching travel videos. DO NOT TRAVEL ANYMORE or go on cruises.

What was the shocking experience?!? Is it «shocking» to pay 18 euros to get a guaranteed private cabin? That was something u guys really wanted….. 😂😂😂😂
