Join us as we spend our first day exploring Skardu and get our first impressions.
We search for the regions famous Walnut cake, hike up to see the Kharphocho Fort and get to see the most breathtaking views above the city of Skardu. Pakistan proving once again that it is full of surprises!
Sadly we come across a lot of trash that has been dumped around the city which really makes us sad considering this is one of the most beautiful backdrops of any place we have been.

Thanks, we do agree and it happens all over the world sadly BUT Skardu is still an incredible place to visit - it could just be better if it was less of a dumping ground

In summer, Skardu will be teeming with tourists, trekkers and climbers, heading north up the Shigar Valley and then east towards the Baltoro Glacier, for the finest mountain scenery in the World. Lots of foreigners too. And the apricots in the Shigar Valley are some of the tastiest I've ever eaten.

There's an organic village also close to fort, not sure this summer but during last summer there were direct flights from Karachi and Lahore to skardiu

Once upon a time all these places was 5 star running. But as tourism fell in Pakistan, and stuff happened. And politics and other country issues. Many things started to go down hill. Hopefully will get better soon one day inshallah 🇵🇰💯. And Pakistan economy gets better and country improves again.

POK n Gilgit Bultistan are part of INDIA, this area forcefully occupied by pakistan in 1947. Accessions sign by Maharaja Hari sing with India.

They guys who asked for photos look like from Punjab or Sindh they do it all the time when they see tourists especially European tourists locals don't stare and ask for photos..this cringe behaviour is characteristic of Punjabis and sindhis

that is gilgit baltistan was part of India till 1947 before Pakistan invaded gilgit baltistan and forcefully annexed it to Pakistan. soon it will be again part of India.

I reckon somebody wanted to stay a night at Serena Hotel, but someone else was looking at his wallet, oh come now, 99 quid wasn't that bad,it's not everyday that you will get a chance to feel the luxury of the hotel high up the mountains with breathtaking views.... 😂😂😂😂. If you guys visit next time I will be glad to host you at all Serena Hotels in Pakistan. In Shaa Allah.
