Harry telling Lupin he saw pettigrew is only in the movies though. In the books he didn't see pettigrew in the map. 🤔

Harry sees Pettigrew only in the movie. He doesn't see Pettigrew in the book.

Harry never saw Pettigrew on the Map. that's only in the movie. in the book, Lupin comes into the Shrieking Shack asking "where is he, Sirius?" and Harry has no idea who he's talking about.

I think It's implied that Sirius stopped trusting him first. He's the one that ensured Remus wouldn't know about the change in secret keeper to Peter. Remus stopped trusting him because he still believed that Sirius was the secret keeper and Lily, James, and Peter were all dead. I still like Sirius though, but that was unfortunate.

But the secret keeper has to tell the location to the ppl who wants to visit lily and james or check on them.

@@not-so-happypappypatton they told Bathilda because she regulary visited the Potters, they also told Dumbledore because we know he visited James and Lily, and also Sirius knew about the location, we saw in Lilys letter, that Lily asked him to come over. Of course they needed to check everyone - probably with a similar method that they used in the 7th book with the security questions - but they stil needed to share the location to some ppl. They had a baby, if something had happened to them they needed ppl to look on Harry - like how Sirius rushed to their home when they suspected that something happened, and how Hagrid took baby Harry after his parents death. As you know even tho Wormtail told Sirius and Dumbledore and Bathilda and probably a few other ppl, it's only the oroginal secret keeper who can share the secret with someone new. So for example Bathilda couldn't tell the location to anyone even if she knew because the spell doesn't let her to do it. This is the point of the fidelius charm

You didn't just jump to Peter right away he knew it as soon as he heard because even if Lupin knew where the Potters were he couldn't have told anyone the only one who could was Peter Pettigrew so it's pretty obvious who betrayed James and Lily Potter

@@raven1436 That's about the betrayal of James and Lily. Sirius knew it was Peter that told.....someone. That someone couldn't have been Lupin...he already knew. The mistrust is prior to that, and over Lupin's loyalties. That's what Sirius apologizes for; he COULD have picked Lupin instead of Peter and did not, because he wasn't sure. Sirius had a habit of underestimating people..or beings, he had no respect for...Peter, Kreatcher, Bellatrix. He completely respected Lupin, but not werewolves in general, which leads to his mistrust.

i don't think Remus ever suspected that there was a rat (literally) in the Order until news of the Potters' death broke out. at that time he still believed Sirius was Secret-Keeper, so that plus the news of Sirius apparently killing Peter was what made Remus reluctantly accept that Sirius was the traitor.

Before the potters died Remus didn’t mistrusted Sirius, he actually trusted him, it was Sirius who mistrusted him first , it was only after the potters death that he mistrusted him bc he thought he betrayed them, well and he doubted sirious obviously bc there were evidences telling that sirious killled Peter And betrayad the potters, how was him soposed to know peter had a brilliant plan of using his transformation as a rat tu run for more than a decade and cutting his own finger to be seen as dead? I mean, sirious was the one who mistrusted him first, and then all left from Peter was a finger so he thought the obvious like everyone else, even dumbledore and the Wesleys mistrusted Sirius after that. But later in the 3 movie both Sirius and lupin realized it was actually peter, and than they started to trust eachother more than anybody else again, and oh the way they hug eachother is so powerful, like they’re saying “ I’m sorry “ and “ I’ve missed you” at the same time you know

Yeah , They has a strong bond but they mistrusted eachother, Sirius prior to the Potter’s death and lupin after it, since the evidences pointed the guilt towards Sirius. But later they realized that was peter and started to trust eachother more than anybody else again, and their hug and reunion was so powerful, like they were saying “ I’m sorry” and I’ve missed you at the same time

Also idk about Sirius mistrusting or not wearewolves, I mean , I don’t think so but maybe he thought that they had more tendency to go to Voldemort since they were hated buy the wizards community so maybe Voldemort could brainwash them against the wizards, so that’s why he mistrusted Remus too

I've been rereading the books and if I could change the books a bit I would change mostly book 5 and 7. I mean I'd let Sirius show up in person at hogwarts when he wanted to meet Harry at hogsmeade and even show up at a few d.a meetings as a "outlaw" teacher. I would have written Minerva join in the help too. Sirius would stay in her office until late at night then slip out as a dog in the honeydukes or whopping willow paths. Now he would still have died but not in that book but at voldemorts hand in book 7 during the battle of hogwarts protecting his friend lupin or in honor of Harry's life after Harry "death". Tonks wouldn't die but maybe get seriously hurt. In book 5 I'd would have killed someone still but not Sirius.

@@andrewgamez7973 Absolutely. It almost seemed as if he was brought in just to bring about some emotion and life to the story, nevertheless it was a clean job done. His character had the worst fate, from being ostracized by his family, losing 2 of his closest people, cheated by one , chucked in Azkaban accused of betrayal and murder , had to live off rats while being on the run and lock himself up in his parents home he hated over everything - all of this to be sucked into a frikking veil. He did have his douche moments when he bullied Snape and with Kreacher the house elf, but that against everything else he had to endure seems so unfair to me. Even his death served no purpose, all anyone benefitted from him was from material things he possessed - the motorcycle, two way mirror, Grimmauld palace, Firebolt. The other deaths - say of Snape, Remus, Tonks, Mad eye, Dumbledore - although none of em deserved it, all had left a mark, got to accomplish something, but Sirius, he was just gone ,just like that. His potential was criminally under utilised , i dare say Rowling wronged his character. It'd have been so much better the way you said ,having seen the end of war, killed a couple death eaters (presumably Fenrir greyback), maybe get to see Snape's version of things in the Pensive along with Harry for that'd be one strong moment of realisation given the history he shared with Snape. He is hands down my fav character in the franchise, wronged, yet Brave, and loyal till the very end .

@Gaius Wyrden well, if Europe was plunged into chaos, I am sure non-european muggles would become aware of the magical world, and find ways to detect magic. It would be like back in the days, before the magical community had a ministry rather than government.. muggles vastly outnumber the magical kind, they just dont have the adequate information as of yet. All it takes is for Macusa or any other government to break the statute of secrecy and openly cooperate. And you risking your life just makes the muggles sheltered. Imagine instead if the barriers between magic and non-magic would fall, with wizards and soldiers joining forces? With nukes and wyldfires, snipers and bombardas. I dont care how immortal Voldie is, a couple of nukes ought to destroy him whenever he gets a new body. Sooner or later, he runs out of horocruxes. A .50 cal ought to tear his head off his shoulders, and disintegrate however powerfull wand he might be holding. From 1000m, he wont even hear the bang before the bullet hits. So getting up a protective spell isnt gonna cut it.

I figure it's more of a shadow war. Up until they took over the ministry Voldemorts followers were mostly striking from the shadows and that's not to mention a lot of death eaters we very influential purebloods who could puppeteer things behind the scenes. Their main weapon was fear and it's one they utilized well I suppose.

@@drpuffington_ Yeah but at some point you got to take the centre of control eventually. to win so surely when that moment arrives The ministry and the order of the phoenix would be able to fully muster their forces and defeat in one pitch battle Voldemort. Maybe JK Rowling just lacks knowledge on how wars are finalised. Make me wonder why the rest of the world did not send aid though, surely the rise of a dark lord in the UK would be an issue that needs to be stomped out.

But to Sirius, I think James, Lily and Harry would be more important than Remus so saying he didn't make him the secret keeper is kinda bad... Who ever is the secret keeper has to be 100% trustworthy. Sirius switched because they thought it was obvious he was the sk because he's James' best friend. And choose Peter because that would be the less obvious choice. But he still had to take the trust into consideration and I think he didn't trust Remus enough and convinced James and Lily he was the spy.

Dumbledore was willing to sacrifice people, regardless who or how close, if it served his greater goal. Despite changing at a young age for the better, he remained always subject to allowing atrocities to occur, even by his own design, if it served what he judged to be " the greater good".

I think he did forgive him after a while but lost his trust in Sirius after that. I mean, James, Sirius and Peter were Remus' best friends and he didn't have any choice did he? That's similar as to why he didn't stop them from bullying Snape. He was afraid they won't be his friends anymore. He forgave Sirius but never fully trusted him and that's why it was so easy for Remus to accept the news of Sirius being the spy. He didn't even question it...
