I haven't bought any new running shoes in 2024.
So how am I getting by when I'm running 80km (or 50 miles) a week? How many shoes are in my rotation? Is that enough, or not enough?
I go through my current shoe rotation, where something old is new again.
I'm running in shoes that I bought more than 2 years ago!

Similar rotation Neil and I try to go for the old versions too but not so many choices here in NZ. They don't seem to bring in enough pairs. I have an Asics voucher from my age group win of Auckland Marathon and even Asics hasn't had a Novablast since October. I did pick up a pair of Puma Velocities which have great grip for winter and a pair of their Deivates which are in the box waiting for my Speed 3s to get old. Still have one pair of Rebels new in a box.

Hi Alan, I have been tempted to try some Puma shoes, but just haven't got around to buying a pair. I have given up on Asics and getting the Superblasts, they are/were never available in my size. I'm getting close to an overhaul of my shoes, so some new ones will join the rotation. Not sure if I'll try the latest Novablast and Rebels. There are just so many shoes on the market now.👍

Somehow I manage with just 1 pair for training, and 1 for racing on the roads. But don't ask how many pairs I have for trail running :)

Haha, I won't ask mate. Sounds like you hit the trails more than the roads, so your ratio may be OK.👍

I bought a pair of Hoka Bondi 7 last year from Kogan - definitely knockoffs - lesson learned. I have got quite a few pairs of Saucony and Salomon from OzSale and MyDeal cheaply and they all seem legit.

Yeah, I'm always a bit wary of those site, but good to know you had some success. Unfortunately, sometimes the pictures associated with these sites don't always give a true reflection of the product. 👍

Not sure how you get that mileage out of shoes, fair play. All of mine die around 350 miles. Always notice leg pain with every shoe around that distance. Might be because i am quite an aggressive forefoot runner, maybe compress the foam too much upfront

Same here 400 max 450 miles , with the exception of the superblast and triumph 21 ...

Hey mate, some shoes are better than others. I can tell usually around 400-500k if shoes are going to last longer. You're getting almost 600k, so that's not too bad, but like you said, being an aggressive forefoot runner may knock a bit off the shoes. 👍
