Hello Richard, does the lightweight version still have cork? Or only rubber midsole? Thanks

What’s the point of having a gusseted boot with laces, how ridiculous is that? You wouldn’t be able to get a nice sinched down fit no matter how tight you pull the laces, perhaps it’s a Irish brogue!

Hi Richard, Ive read some forum, saying Leather(upper) of trickers are way much better than Loakes or barkers, etc What's your thoughts on this? I am interested with your observation. Thank you!

Thank you Sir. Leather varies quite a bit in quality. You would expect, that being so much higher priced than Loake, that Tricker's would be better leathers. For sure the leather Linings, and Insoles look and feel better, but some of the upper leathers certainly look of comparable quality.

Have they stopped making the original then?
@theshoeman17563 жыл бұрын
The original is still and always will be available. This one is a 'seasonal', which if proves popular and there is demand for more, they will run them through another season or maybe more.

@@theshoeman1756 Many thanks, with a high arch and taking a regular 11 in all makes from Clarkes , Loakes , Jones etc. Would you stick to an 11 in Stow or Bourton?
@theshoeman17563 жыл бұрын
@@union310 Welcome Sir :-) The Stow is on 4497s Last which most will find true to size. Some might find it just slightly generous but not enough to change sizes. The Bourton is built on the 4444 Last which is NOT true to size. 11 in the Stow......10 1/2 in the Bourton.

Does any one knows the difference between trickers and Grenson shoes ?
@theshoeman17568 ай бұрын
Two very fine English brands, but after that the differences start to appear. Tricker's, claim to be English oldest mainstream shoemaker, and again claim to have made the 'original' heavy English Country Shoe. They are still made from start to finish in the factory in Northampton. Grenson's (Green and Sons) were I believe taken over by a Guy named 'Tom Little' some years back and shortly after, the majority of their production was transferred from Rushed just outside Northampton, to India. The original factory, in Rushed was closed and is now living accommodation, and the UK production facility was relocated to a modern Industrial unit in Rushden. It has been a few years since I last heard, but unless anything has changed, the UK production is quite small.....

Tricker has cheapened up on the leather…..the make is cheap too; the leather poorly cut. The Tricker Tramper was a far superior shoe in all respects; but you’re too young and inexperienced to know that.
