Trickers do say of the Bourton, “The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (4444) is larger than a regular UK size by half a size”, and they advise taking a half size smaller than normal size. They give the same advice for their Henry, Ilkley and Keswick shoes, which use the same last.

Trickers Bourton shoes 10.5 size - 29 cm - using the tape measure method, as in the video. this may be useful for someone. the 4444 last this is a wide EE.

Please tell trickers' to adjust their sizing chart. I have around about 20 pair of their shoes, so I know my size at all. But If was new to them following their chart on feet measurement I should get 1 or 1 to 1/2 size bigger than my real one. I'm 25,5 cm , and I'm wearing comfy a 6UK 5.5 on Bourton, and they suggest for my size 7UK that is really way way too big. I find Your advise the one spot on sir.

I'll have to check my Trickers ( x Sunspel ), but I'm 285mm and bought a size 10, and they fit a little bit big. Btw, as I'm sure most people know, most people have one foot bigger than the other. Which one ? If you're right handed, it's usually the left foot, and vice versa. Why ? We all stand time to time with the weight primarily on one foot. If you're right handed, you tend to do that on your left foot and vice versa. So as I'm right handed, I measure my (bigger) left foot. Like Chistie Brown :)

4444 last give much heel slip for low instep, thin heel, low volume foot IdK if a 5th eyelet will solve or updating the last to accommodate low volume feet. I really love the looks of Bourton but just stayed away Bcoz of 4444

Wow, good idea 5th eyelet! We need to try that out ....top eyelet to tighten the heel slip. We regularly fit insoles ( proper leather hide, with original heel socks ) to take up the volume .

Can someone give me an advise which size should i choose? My foot lenght is 26,4cm, so should i go with size 8?

Hello ok so if your looking at Trickers Bourton on a 4444 last, then Trickers say to drop half a size because " These are a generous fit and therefore typically larger by half a size " I have just measured a pair of size 7 1/2 And it's 26.7 cm A size 8 is 27 cm Sooooooo difficult to advise. The 7 1/2 should be fine, but you have to make the final decision.......

@@shoehealer8853 Thank you for the reply. If the insole lenght is 26,7cm and my feet is 26,4, there will be only 3mm room for toes? I think if i choose UK8 there will be like 8-10mm room.

You're right, of course. This is soooo difficult for the first time you go into a new brand. There is no substitute for trying the sizes on side by side. So many customers feel that the first size is too snug, but the next size is far too sloppy, so return to the snug fit, and after standing in them for 5 minites, they feel perfect. 3mm is half a size....so 6mm makes up a full size. As long as your toes don't touch the end. I'm back in the shop today, so I'll check a few of my own shoes for the amount of clearance.

After doing all the measurements I ordered my husband the Bourton in size 8. He is a US 9.5 and medium width. He had the shoes on his foot only a couple minutes and said too stiff and too tight but perfect length. I think I sized him correctly by tracing and measuring his foot but he has never had a shoe of this quality that needs a definitive break in period. I am hesitant to return the shoes and get a bigger size because the heel may slip…
