This time around I'm shooting color film with the Kodak ColorPlus and developing it at home on my Jobo CPP2 which I restored from the 90's. See how I got this machine working again after many years lying around in the basement. I use Teternal C41 kit to develop two rolls of Color film in a Jobo 2523 tanks. I explain the tanks and the reels needed for film development on the Jobo processor. At the end I show the results from the Jobo too.

I spent quite a good portion of my life next to this processor & it’s lift & drums. Does from 35 mm C41, 4x5 E6 all the way to 50x60 cibachrom prints so reliably & accurately. There was a particular pleasure in being able to control colors, contrast in a (real) way vs mouse clicks

Thank you for your comments. I did managed to purchase an expert drum recently to do 50x60 prints which I'm hoping to use very soon, but need to make some stabilising wheels for it as it's so long.

Just fill it with hot water, no pint to use jobo to do all the heating. Just to maintain. :)

Congratulations on the Jobo. A couple of things in case you don't already know. With the drums, you are using, put the speed on P which means process. If your using the big expert drums, then use 4. Regarding the reset switch, it's a thermal overload that will activate if you turn the unit on without water covering the heating elements. They are great machines.

Thanks Ned, certain a great machine. Hoping to 3D print a spindle ans buy some secondhand film reels 2500 to adapt a paper drum.

Just stumbled onto this video. This is so awesome Gavin! I seriously appreciate you sharing the process all the way from restoring it to troubleshooting/testing and finally to the lovely images you developed. My favorite shots were the one of you and your dad and the one of the person with their hands in the air on a bike. Those look like the photos you will treasure for a lifetime :)

Thanks so much for watching and kind comments too. I hope to do another video on that Jobo with the expert 3063 tank - the mother of all tank! It can handle a 20x24" or in real money 50x60cm size paper prints - massive. Now that my darkroom is in full swing minus a proper sink but that's in the plans. I'm just finishing up my Vienna trip video where I use paper which is over 60+ year old.

don't be worried about developing two 120 rolls in one go, just get a small red dividers and you're good to go. Some people even use tape to join two rolls together but those little dividers are much easier to use. www.fotoimpex.com/darkroom/jobo-duoclip-einzeln.html

Very nice video, keep working on jobo cpp2 processor. I own a cpp2 since new. film are developed perfectly, and paper too, I assume you will make RA-4 prints, I want to see more videos!.

For the moment its for C41 and in the future E6 film development due to the lack of space I have. My enlarger doesnt have a color head its a Durst 606!! I'm hoping to 3D print the spindle to convert the paper drum to accept a 4-5 2501 reels. Are you trying RA4 ? I may do a video on 3D printing Jobo parts

Great narration! I really want a Jobo processor, but it’s really expensive and hard to find. I wish I can make one myself with a Jobo drum, magnets and a motor! I know it’s a silly idea though…

Very nice, good work! I have a CPE-2 that has a bad thermostat, was going to replace it with an after market Love Controls sous vide controller, then Kodak stopped making their E-6 developer kits and I stopped shooting slides that would require it anyway. Maybe one day.

Thank you for your kind comment! Tetenal still produce E6 chemicals and there always cross processing with C41. Did a video that the Lomograhpy one. Actually right I'm developing some Lomo slide film. That sous vida is really good too, if I hadnt got this Jobo for nothing I'd be using the sous vida.

@@GavinLyonsCreates hi I think sous vide is better in control temperature , i have the Paterson processor and is very difficult to find where exactly is the 38 and somebody told me jobo is the same in control of temperature , so i bought a sous vide and is absolutely perfect , iam thinking now how to make a DIY lift jobo like for auto agitation and dry hands and less chemical can tou give me an idea of what's inside the lift and how does it conect with the motor ? I think there are two funnels one for pure in the chems one for pure out
