Right on! Looks like my garage lol. I have a 10x20 storage unit and I keep most of my stock there. I bring them home, rebuild them and put them back at the storage. If people want to pick them up, they meet me at storage, not at my house. I deliver almost everything I sell as I don't warranty what I don't install myself. I've had too many problems over he years and it gives you a chance to make extra cash for delivery fee or you get their broken dryer and make money fixing it. It's all about the parts. Every part you save from a donor is one you don't have to buy later. I am working on a solution for those top load suspension shocks as well, we will get this thing figured out. Thanks again brother and wash on! 🤘

Yes just washers and dryers. I have sold refrigerators and stoves in the past but now I just concentrate on washers and dryers. I have several reasons for this but the top reasons are. 1 I'm a one-man show refrigerators are heavy and hard to deliver by myself. 2 less parts to keep in stock. 3 I find washers and dryers are easier to sell compared to the stoves and refrigerators I sold in the past 4 If I am selling as many as I can fix and I have more being brought to me than I can deal with why I overwhelm myself with refrigerators and stoves I'm already having problems keeping up with just washers and dryers.

Andrew Ward I don’t use an appliance dolly I use the big wheel dolly from Harbor freight. The bigger the wheels are the easier it is to bump them up and downstairs. I do use a strap Tie when I’m on stairs. It just helps hold the appliance to the dolly and makes it easier for me to do by myself.

@@WasherDryerMoney AMEN! Those "Appliance Dollys" are pieces of GARBAGE. Hard plastic wheels, and the weight limits are total lies. We use HF dollys as well, but I've seen some gigantic ones at Tractor Supply that hold 1,000+lbs and are about 6ft tall... I had a customer bring one he paid $15 for once, and I was able to load, myself, a french-door refrigerator in a few moments. But at the moment, I think I have 5 HF dollys that we swap out due to tires... Moving them all the time eats through the Chinese bearings pretty fast.

That's good months and bad months like most any business. whenever tax returns are coming in I can sell anything I have fixed. I also manage 13 rental properties and have a small moving company. It all I was doing was running this business I know I could easily make more than that especially during busy season. If you average 2 a day which is not that much work to fix 2 and sell, that's over 8k a month profit.

My dad had cold/hot water lines and I had my washer outside. But, if I start a business like this I would get me some broken cement. Build a frame (with 2by4s) 3' x 10' by 2" thick (toss the broken cement into frame). I never pay for 2x4s I always come across them for free. Purchase 6 bags @ $3.78 of 60 lb of cement bags =$22.68 . I can fit 3 machines. Machine 40" each x 3= 120" equivalent to 10' I would Mount Rope Rings onto cement. ( Harbor freight has a pack of 4 for $6.79) I'd probably screw them in before cement completely dries. Purpose of Rings; To tie the machine down in case of storms, winds etc. Purchase Rope (you can find for $3 )🪢 or ratchet straps range from $10- $15 (2-3 pack). Purchase Plastic CLEAR Washer Machine Cover on Amazon or eBay for $8- $15. Add or sew a magnetic strip to the bottom of this plastic cover. You don't want to skip this part. I had my washer outside and it really helps keep it covered. Purchase Business Magnet Cards and place them on your Washer/Dryers. Or make a professional stencil with business name & phone number & spray paint on the back of the machine. I'd probably do both because if they see your name on a magnetic business card every time they wash they will always have you in mind! And for the ones I'm repairing I'd keep a clear plastic envelope inside the machine with what I did, what I found to be the problem, notes as to what I need to order.... information of the machine so when I have money to purchase parts and work on the machine. First 3 sales will pay towards purchasing parts needed for the next 3 machines. I would build on my 1st phase 2 frames of 3x10s one for the finished product and 1 row for the machines that need repair. I don't know how to repair washing machines but for those of you who know. It ain't that hard to set this up. Plus, the washing machines move pretty fast. If they see they are protected and you have your water hook-ups. Show video of that machine working. Note: Build or purchase Swivel Wooden Dolly. And if you have a truck get u a tailgate lift. Or if you have a small 4x8 trailer with small tires that will work! I'm a woman and I can move that trailer like nothing. I'm so excited about that small trailer! Make money delivering too!

I went through several that did not work out. Do you want one that is open most days and take a reasonable fee of around 10%. They also need to be willing to load for some customers. Although most of mine were deliveries and I would just get a call from the shop when they sold one.

Pricing depends on your area and how much competition you have. I charged $50 for delivery and set up. When I had excess inventory, I would run a free delivery and set up special. I don’t like to deliver outside of a 20 minute drive. I would charge extra for hoses and dryer plugs. I also would do free delivery with trade-in. This was my most common way of doing deliveries. Most people that buy used appliances have a broken trade-in.

I very rarely sold anything besides washers and dryers. A few reasons for this. They are by far the fastest selling Appliances. I’m a one-man show and refrigerators are extremely heavy for one guy to move or deliver, this is also why I avoid front load washers. My third reason is I don’t need to do anything other than that because I could barely ever get caught up with washers and dryers to be refurbished. I’m very fast at Texan because that’s all I do and people know me in my area as the washer and dryer guy. Focus made me a lot of money fast compared to being a jack of all trades.

Where do you find the washers and dryers?
@WasherDryerMoney
@WasherDryerMoney 2 жыл бұрын
There’s lotta different ways to get Broken washer‘s and dryers to work on. Depending on where you live there are people that just sell them by the trailer loads. There’s a few Facebook groups that focus on that way of selling. The other way is to get them before they get to the scrap yard. How do you have a few machines you also get trade-ins if you offer a slight discount. For every 4 I sold I would always get one or two as trade-ins back.

start with dryers that have filters that come out the top and direct drive Whirlpool Style washers after you get good at those start working on pause/play washers. When I started I just watched KZfaq videos constantly on how to do repairs. I have a whole lot of repair videos on my channel so just start going through those. It's easier than you think there's only about five things that go wrong with washers and dryers.

I have been doing this for a while. But I originally started out buying and flipping on Craigslist. I was buying working washers and dryers that just needed to be cleaned up and relisted but occasionally I would get a broken one and have to fix it.

I get not working snowblowers and fix them and sell them. I say get a not working machine and fix it and sell it. First time around it would take you long time.. but then you will start seeing same kind of things broken is similar machines.. you will know likely parts to orders..and learn the tools to use ..

My base labor to repair is 178. Trip charge is 108 but another well known company charges 137. Depends on the costs of customer acquisition, etc for your business model. If you can find a one guy op you like (quality) and he can charge less and stay in business, go for it.

Which washer/dryer models and colors sell the best and quickly?
@WasherDryerMoney
@WasherDryerMoney 3 жыл бұрын
People love the old direct drive washers. They’re getting harder to find but when I get them they tend to sell pretty quick. I have a lot harder time selling weird color appliances. iPhone just standard white appliances move the fastest. As for dryers my favorite is the filter out the top. They still look good and they’re easy to fix.

@WasherDryerMoney

Not that big of a deal. you charge it to the customer and give it to the state. I’m sure the process of giving it to the state is a little different in every area. But I bet it is pretty straightforward with online portals in most places.
