I'm realizing that people are VERY loyal to their favorite brand of tractor! When I was growing up in the tobacco fields, there were John Deere and International tractors around here and that's about all you'd see. Now there are a dozen or more brands and everybody sticks to their favorite! Interesting...

I've had my Rk 24 for over 2yrs now and have good luck out of it. I have almost 300 hrs on and haven't had any problems out of it. I've pushed it really hard to get the work done that I have done. I used mine 2 weeks after I got it to fix the road to my hunting cabin and the road had 3ft deep ruts in it.

I have 2 LS tractors. A xg3025 and a 3010. The 3025 has paid for itself and the only problem was a$1.00 spring on the backhoe safety lever. 200 hrs. The 3010 had a emergency light switch go after 10 years of use. $30.00 . You can't beat them for price..

Stick a Kubota or John Deere. I`m betting the bigger bang for the buck is Kubota. It was for us anyway. All those other tractors really suck when you have terrible dealer support. We chose the Kubota BX23S. We`ve owned JD`s for well over 30yrs, and JD couldnt even come close in the savings that Kubota did. We`ve had ZERO issues with our 2017 Kubota. We also live in snow country. I have a 7ft rear blade on a Land Pride QH-05 quick hitch to plow our driveways. It works absolutely great. Front loader qwik-attach. Nothing like it. We have several frontend attachments. And the frontend loader comes off the tractor without ever getting out of the seat. We have the 60in mid mount mower. Cuts our lawns beautifully. The backhoe on it is a god send. We`ve saved THOUSANDS of dollars by doing our own work. Tractor has paid for itself already. Our dealer liquid filled the rear tires for free when we bought it. We got ZERO percent intrest, and 2 free attachments when kubota was offering the deal. That`s also something to think about too... find out what each brand is willing to give you with the tractor deal. Hands down, Kubota won us over very easily. We are still as happy as the day we bought the tractor brand new in May of 2017. Last year we bought a Land Pride box blade. How i ever got along without one this long i`ll never know. What a great attachment. Last but not least.... that pedal you complained about on the Kubota`s, funny how i dont get kinks in my neck anymore. Its easier to operate the rear implements without having to stretch out to reach side by side pedals like the RK and JD has. Just some food for thought.

Have a 2015 1025R since new. It is a brute for its size. Consult the dealer for pricing promotions. When I purchased mine it was 3K less than the MSRP. Tractor Loader Backhoe with a 54D mower deck. Had a warranty issue with the fuel pump that was completely covered by Deere. The removal if the attachments are a breeze. Zero issues with the hydraulic quick connects. I use the tractor hard pushing it to its limits and sometimes a little beyond.

Coming up on 2 years with my RK24. One of the best purchases we've ever made. Our town has a local Deere and Kubota dealership, so I took a risk going 30 miles to buy the RK. So far, it's been reliable, strong, and very capable. Have only had one issue, and dealership was great about a fast repair. At about 170 hours right now, and I've beat the crud out of it, and it still looks and runs like new. By the way, I added a hydraulic top link that utilizes that standard rear remote... wow. Makes hooking up large accessories like a wood chipper and yard roller *so* much easier and more versatile in the field.

I have the grapple with third function valve, Woodland mills wg24 stump grinder, 4' tiller, 4' bush hog, landscape rake, bucket with piranha tooth bar, and soon to get the box blade. I am absolutely amazed at the capability of this little tractor. I have had so far zero issues. I did the 50 hour maintenance myself and it was easy. My favorite attachment has to be the grapple. I have picked up and moved some things that I thought would have never been possible.

There are pluses and minuses for all brands. There's no free lunch; buy a no-name brand and you're rolling the dice on future support, compatibility, etc. Buy a big name brand and you're paying more for paint color. Go with what you feel most comfortable with. I can't get my mind to venture outside of the established brands, but there's no real reason for that, I just know myself.

I had a JD790 years go. Great tractor. In the market for another 6 months ago and started researching all brands. I'm not loyal to a brand. I want the most value for my hard earned dollars like most. For what I was looking for, the Kioti CK3510SE HST really got my attention. After hour and hours of research I ended up with the Kioti. Owning a JD again would have been great because of the history and great name but it wasn't worth thousands more for similar features and performance. What matters in the end is each tractor owner is happy with their decision. Just do a ton of research before buying.

Oh fun times, went through this in 2018! I looked at RK, JD, Kubota, Mahindra, New Holland when I was looking for a subcompact. I was more looking at the little features and comfort and specs as well. The most important will be your dealer and how they treat you! That should be first! Parts, are you going to be able to get parts in 10 years on an RK tractor, Kioti, Branson? Not sure where you live, any cold days, treat the diesel all year, I use Howes, may switch to stanadyne. Back to the tractors, the Kubota, I couldn't get past the tin holding the front loader locked and the stand and 3 point hitch setup. Very tipsy from what I seen, felt like a toy next to a 1025r. Long and narrow. Hate the pedal design, but like the all in one vs their split design. But hear very little problems with them though. Some front ball joint issues and leaks at the single connect loader, but hopefully figured that out by now. Doesn't lift much with loader, 3 point lifts though. Mahindra, they are well built, but the same with RK. They just don't seem fully developed to me. But all cast iron, reminded me of the old Internationals. Trying to check the oil wasn't fun, in odd area on side and hard to see. Was looking at the Max 26 XLT HST. Backhoe was rough to use, no cushioning. Feel like you are sitting on top of tractor. New Holland, just something I didn't like about it and wasn't impressed. The RK24, it was nice to see the extra features, but it felt clunky and not complete. Forward leaver for front loader, etc. I then looked at the 1025r, the sales guy was busy with another customer, threw me the keys and said go test what you want. The 1025r, loader is easy on and off and stand works on it's own as you take the loader off or put on. Wish it was a single connection for hydraulics, but wasn't available then, is now! OEM front third function is as well now! I like the JD quick attach better, lighter, easier to use with two pins. Watch TTWT for good comparison video. The universal are known to bind and get rough. Oil filter and dip stick are easy to get too along with filter, pre-filter. The 3 point hitch on JD is position control, it's not up or down, you can stop it where you want. Backhoe, has a step to help you get up on it and also locks for the outriggers so the don't leak and come out with a dent in the wall or car. Backhoe has side to side and back cushioning so it's not so rough. Can float the bucket on it like the front loader. Get the 16" hoe bucket! Start with it if you go this route! 12" is too small! Can get the 6" later for trenches from bxpanded.com if needed. Has extra work lights on side. Felt like you sat in the tractor instead of above it. Mid mower easy on off, don't leave dealer without them checking it though first as they are known to not adjust the autoconnect for some reason. When auto connect is working, game changer! Same for the Load-N-Go, can lift the deck up with the loader and sharpen blades, clean underneath deck, another game changer. Some complain about the gas gauge on side, I like it, easy to see from seat or backhoe seat! Some problems are the transmission. See a lot of transmission leak issues and covered under warranty. Air cleaners were breaking top of engine valve housing, but late 2018 and forward that is fixed. Some complain about front axle not being vented and causing seal leaks after hours of use, some just open the dip stick and relieve the pressure, but never experienced any issues here. 1025r loader can lift more than BX23S, but 3 point on Kubota lifts more. Little less tipsy, but still possible. Think RK and Mahindra win with power specs. JD open hood design is stupid, needing pen, key or something to push in the release. Sides come off easy with 1/4 turn thumb screws. I don't care what color the tractor is, just want it reliable, comfortable, make my life easier! Dad eventually ended up getting the Mahindra Max 26 XLT.

That RK24 is EXACTLY the same as my Zetor M25. I believe they come off the same Korean assembly line. One thing the buyer should be aware of is that many bolts will need to be tightened. The lower portion of the 3-point bolts to the transmission cross bolts…mine had standard nuts, lock washers and flat washers….they came loose and trans fluid leaked. I solved the problem by replacing the nuts with nylocks and red loctite. Also, the fiber bushings that add friction to the throttle lever disintegrated, so I had to get in there and fix that as well. Last but not least, the bushings for the bucket tilt appear to have A LOT of slop. Not really sure if that is a big deal, but I would think it would be tighter at 50 hours. Zetor will bend you over $36 for an oil filter when you can find an equivalent Mann Filter W811/80 on amazon for $16ish. Other than that, the Zetor works great so far at 50hrs.

I was in a similar situation as you, while researching for a tractor, I wanted a subcompact with a backhoe, I checked JD, they were more than what I wanted to pay, I checked kubota, I didn't like the foot pedal and you can't get a 25 hp with a backhoe, I checked new holland workmaster 25s and found out that it is the same as a ls mt125 and when you take on and off the backhoe you have to take on and off the 3 point hitch and no skid steer quick attach for the loader, I was thinking RK but the dealer was about 90 minutes away, also I didn't like the joystick location for the loader, and the location of the fuel fill. My choice was a Massey Ferguson GC1725MB due to the value, joystick location, fuel fill location, skid steer quick attach, 25 hp with the backhoe, the 3 point hitch folds up behind the backhoe, and dealer location.

I went with the BX23S. Keep in mind the Kubota’s 23hp engine has more torque than the 25 hp Yanmar engine and is noticeably quieter. The Kubota hydraulics are much smoother and the loader can lift and curl at the same time compared to the JD plastic tractor. I didnt see an issue with the tredal pedal as my Ariens lawn mower is the same. I notice that pedal is helpful when going in reverse. It allows you to turn your body more to better see behind you. I have since bought the B2601 2 years ago. Wanted more ground clearance for 40 acres up north. The rubber mat doesnt move like that one

Bought an RK24 about six months ago. Works like a champ. I like the JD 1025r, but I couldn't see any reason to justify spending thousands more. There just wasn't an advantage to the John Deere. Sure they've been around a long time, but still a Yanmar engine, and TYM has been around a bit. RK has a longer warranty also, without paying for a longer one. You really can't go wrong with any of them. It's just dollars after all. Lol

I personally prefer the loader control upfront beside the steering wheel, I have never had an issue with my arm getting tired or anything with it. I understand the reasoning behind moving it to the fender to allow entry from both sides, but I also treat my tractor like a horse, motorcycle, forklift.... and always enter from the left side.

The Rual King Looks nice.. I did like the bigger Tires for sure.... I have a JD 1025R and have had it for 5 years now. I have had No real problems with it. The hydraulic connections that you had concerns about for ground clearance I have had no problems or issues with. The only issue I have had with mine is the rubber strap for the Air Filter canister keeps breaking. I'm thinking it is due from the vibration of the motor that makes the strap rub against the Air Filter canister and it breaks are the metal hooks. I have had to replace it 3 times now. Also keep in mind who and where and how far you will need to go to get parts or to take it to get fixed too..?? So after having my 1025R for 5 years, I'm very happy with it and it works great for me! I bought a John Deere 1025R last summer and love it. Their backhoe comes with it's own seat so you don't have to turn the tractors seat around so that is a plus. I think their front loader detaches easier and if you want a belly mower it's auto connect is the best. I agree, it's a little more money but you get what you pay for and nothing runs like a Deere. And like someone else said, it's made in the USA. Be part of the club, buy a JD and we will teach you the secret hand shake once Covid is over......lol. BTW - Zero % financing helps too.

RK about 25____30 miles away the RK24 with loader is like 12-13k the RK25 with loader is 15999.00.the RK as you said comes with things the JD don't. I'm leaning toward the JD 1023e price, warranty, resale, dependable & and I think it will do all I need it to do here. But have to say the RK25 is really temping for Best bang for the buck, you know. I need the small wheel base and narrow machine to do my landscaping jobs. You may want to look at a larger Deere model. I agree with you on the Kubota treadle pedal, I have used them and most difficult machine to operate. Did loader lift checks for these 3 tractors plus a yanmar. The New Holland easily beat the rest as it put up 1000lbs at 6 ft. I was shocked tbh. It prices out about 2-3K more than the RK and Yanmar's though with bucket and backhoe.

We've had our 1025r 1.5 yr and happy with it. got it packaged w loader and backhoe. Yes those low hanging connections can come unconnected when operating in heavy brush. Have never been damaged but is a bit irritating when you go to use the bucket and have to reconnect a coupling. The little danglers are best stowed in the tool box lest they get jerked off. Really do like the two set arrangement on the backhoe. That treadle pedal would drive me to distraction( yeah that was one of the deal breakers for me). The main reason we went with the JD was they've been around a day or two and facilities are plentiful in our area. The attachments are robust. Lastly don't let the "plastic" hood throw you, I've dropped some things on it and it doesn't break or dent .

Great video. To the point and informative with the annoying music so many people add to the videos I did the same thing and went with Kubota. You settled on the New Holland and that is a fine tractor It was at the top of my list as well. I actually went with a 40 hp with dpf , hated it and could not take it. I just traded it in for a 26hp model LX2610SU. I’m waiting on delivery. Again , great video 👍

I'm shopping for subcompacts also. I've narrowed it down to the Mahindra and Kioti. RK would not sell me a tractor because the nearest store is so far away. I'm leaning towards the Kioti because I have a dealer 3 miles away and I just like the tractor better....metal fenders and the joystick on the fender included. The problem with the Kioti is that tractor delivery would be in July (at least 3 months out.)

Take a look at the Massey Ferguson's . I'm in the market for a 50 hp compact and am really impressed with the Massey's . Only thing that worries me about the RK is service and warranty . I have read some bad reviews about those issues with the RK's . Our local Rural King is in the old K-Mart building , don't think they could have much of a service shop but who knows . Ya might end up on your own .

The one thing with the “name brands” is for instance the John Deere if you take care of it they really hold their value! And my father has an old John Deere A I believe it’s a 1953 and if he needs something for it he goes to cazenovia tractor our local Deere dealer and gets or prospers to get the parts...so he can go to a dealer and get parts for a nearly 70yr old tractor...so for company’s like Deere they’ve been around forever and parts are always available...can’t say the same for half these new sub compact tractors out now...years down the road you might not be able to get parts! Then what?

Kubota is basically a Toyota tractor. Parts inside are made by Denso... the same supplier Toyota has always used. Mitsub0shi belts are on Kubota.. same supplier as Toyota. The Korean tractors may offer more upfront but the quality is not the same as a Japanese supplier

KUBOTA since 2018 or so is not the KUBOTA people know from years past, my neighbour works for Kubota national office and admits, older machines were better quality as Kubota did a major shift to be more competitive in sales. Now days reputation of dealer you are dealing with is more valuable than brand, as long as you're sticking to the 5 major sub compact brands... Massey ferguson, Kubota, John Deere, New Holland, Kioti.

@@personalfunfest Toyota owns Denso, ofcourse they will put Denso parts in their cars lol. Like I said, any of the main five makes are great tractors, I got 10 gears warranty with mine but these machines change from year to year like anything else, I know in recent years Kubita cut cost on hydraulic systems, especially cylinders which they had issues with leaking with. At the end of the day, every machine will be great when new, but once you will need assistance you ha e to deal with people and dealerships, not logos on the front of your tractor, that's why for me, any of those 5 brands is good, you'll be splitting hair trying to figure out which is better, so it really comes down to customer service, and turnaround. Massey/Fendt provides replacement tractors if yours breaks and u der warranty, in my case that's 10 years. I know locally only they do that. So again, co es dien to dealership and their approach to customers, not brand. Cheers!

The 15 series will get you machine weight of 3014 bare add loader gains another 800lbs. Lift to full height at the pins is 2200lbs. 3pt is like 3600, 29xx at 24 inches out. The 25hp dosen't have any emissions 30hp up dose but it a very simple emission system than can be fixed easily if problems occur and the engines are all mechanical. That's what I'm looking at.

I echo that sentiment about dealers. I looked at JD, Kubota, Massey and New Holland for full sized tractors. I'm pretty sure I would have been happy with any of them, but the Kubota dealer has 3 stores closer to me than any of the others. Same analysis for the sub-compact I had to get when my wife didn't find it funny that I mowed the lawn with a 15' brush hog.

I have a 3 year old kubota l3901 hydrostat. I would not let DEF determine what tractor i buy. It does auto regen..... so if you are working and it flashes at you.... you just make sure and increase throttle to at least 2200 rpm and it does its thing while you do yours. If it is idling and you dont get it sped up it will eventually require you to park regenerate it. And that takes less than 10 minutes. If you used the hydrostatic foot pedal for about 1 day you would never want any other style. Just my opinion

Green and orange are huge companies with marketing budgets larger than the revenues of some of their competitors. The bean counting departments have big influence on the products -- it's all about hitting the sales targets and pleasing their shareholders. Just like the big auto companies, engineering departments are dedicated to finding ways to reduce costs, and these resources are justified because the volumes are so large (economies of scale). Your observations weren't unfounded. I immediately noticed some "light duty" aspects and some disappointing dealer aloofness when looking at those brands when I was shipping for a CUT. I guess you become more of an "order taker" than a "sales person" when customers walk into your showroom and say "I want one of those". Those manufacturers know that they have a rabid following (aka Harley Davidson) and they know that cutting some corners won't negatively affect their sales numbers much. Similarly, if they put more features and quality into their tractors, they likely won't sell many more because they'll have to increase their prices and make them even less cost competitive. The smaller brands can't afford to have people questioning their quality or performance -- that can make or break a manufacturer in a heartbeat with the internet exposure. When you look at brands like Branson, Mahindra, Kioti, Tym/RK, LS and a few others, the weight, capacities, standard features and overall robustness of those machines are beyond what the green and orange offer in the same price range. Those two companies make good machines, it's just that they aren't as good as some others, because they don't HAVE to be as good. Frankly it's a very enviable position to be in. There are thousands of happy owners of green and orange tractors, they've got the largest dealer networks (especially JD), those machines will have good resale value if well maintained and not abused, and guaranteed the companies will be around for many decades to come. Some of the smaller brands may or may not be around in a decade or two (most likely will) and dealers are usually not as well established. As it is with just about any kind of product, different strokes for different folks . . . . .
